I have always disliked clothing, doffing everything even when I was in a playpen. I’ve learned to keep my clothes on in public, but as an adult, I enjoy skinny dipping. I wonder if this is a manifestation of the sensory issues that are common in autism. Does anyone else here enjoy going without clothes?

l have sensory issues, like tight bands around waist, l pull or stretch out, or use a seam ripper and take it out. l adore low waist pants because they feel more comfortable. l do like keeping clothes on vs off.

Whenever possible. One of many reasons I dislike being in public.

I like to wear pajamas when I sleep - with full leg bottoms. It feels better than sleeping naked or in my underwear.

I prefer loose-fitting clothes but not really because of sensory issue. As the day wears on I become more bloated, so the pants I wore in the morning start digging in to my stomach in the afternoon, causing me to feel sick and restricted. I can wear tighter clothing on my top half though.

Also not getting dressed when I'm not going out really saves on the laundry, so there's that.

Oh, and I sleep starkers, even on the coldest nights.

Clothes are a means of keeping you warm when it gets cold, and keeping you from getting arrested when it gets warm.

I like to wear clothing that is touching my body but not very tight, I prefer bamboo or other cozy material

I've been a bit of a nudist at times. I grew up "hippy" so it wasn't so taboo in my circles. I sleep naked and I prefer to swim naked and I like activities that lend themselves to nakedness.😏

@buchman, are you sure that is not buck-man...?

Think there was a brief time when I’d sleep without wearing anything, but since some people just have no sense of privacy I have to at least have some boxers on. Otherwise, much of my wardrobe consists of oversized, baggy t-shirts and sweatpants. Socks are a bit annoying but necessary if I’m to wear shoes anyway, definitely can’t get used to sandals. Definitely the worst I’ve ever had to dress was for church in early years being raised catholic. Wearing tight clothing now for weddings and such is always a pain, especially in summer.

I like being buck-naked where it is necessary and appropriate, but prefer, minimally, a jockstrap and close-toed sandals if I will be running & jumping...
