Cognitive behavioural therapy...?

I got given a number by my GP, a therapist. We talked for a bit on the phone and said that I really needed help with panic attacks, social anxiety and depression. She said it would be best if I have CBT.
I only get panic attacks because im worried i'll always be alone (I currently have no friends or ever been in a relationship) which was making me depressed.

I guess if I worked on my social anxiety thing would start getting better?

Is anyone (or was) in the same situation as me? Did you have Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?
How are you now, how do you feel about life? Is it easier to talk to people and make friends?

I first saw a therapist for high anxiety and sleep issues, we worked on CBT, which helped somewhat, I did start sleeping better, was more resilient, bounced back easier. I wasn't diagnosed with AS for a couple of years after that, and was advised to try anti-anxiety meds, and after trying a few different ones, have found a good fit.

I still do a variation on CBT, as well as mindfulness meditation. It is a little easier to talk to people, however, after chasing off most of my dysfunctional old friends, I haven't been able to make any new ones, but I've managed to make some friendly acquaintances, and, of course, there is this bunch here at AC.
