COVID Vaccine: What to expect

My dad and I were talking about getting the covid 19 vaccine. I’ve been unable too as my mom believes in various misinformation. My dad said I should wait until the newest vaccine is out, then get it on a day she doesn’t work. What should I expect?

Are you looking for people to share their own personal experiences after having the vaccine?

I had a salty metallic taste in my mouth that lasted for weeks afterward. Something like having a penny in your mouth that tasted salty. I reported the reaction, which I considered to be adverse, to the VAERS system (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). Never before did I have any previous vaccine reaction like that or even remotely close to that. I also recall it burned in my arm, a traveling feeling, right after the shot which was creepy and like nothing I'd experienced before with any other vaccine. I remember flu shots having a very slight burning feeling right after those shots, but this one was different: more intense and expanded past the injection site (the sensation).

I have had three rounds of the Pfizer product with no side effects. Not even a sore arm.

My wife and I chatted about it this morning including the latest flu shootie told her do not follow my lead I have no issues with vaccines Due to my blood type AB plus my immune system does not like being exposed to foreign substances being injected into my body. causing an auto immune reaction. One bout of transverse myelitis was enough for me. Either way my statistics on my covid thread showed the vaccine worked very well.

Like your arm felt sore? I got my flu shot today and other than my arm being sore I’m fine
Nope. A burning feeling. I had mine a few years ago. To clarify since you also mentioned waiting for the newest version of the vaccine, I'm not referring to any new version.

Due to my blood type AB
Also isn’t this blood type rare? I remember watching a South Park episode which stated one of the characters had type -AB blood and was in need of new kidneys, while the only person that was compatible with him was his worst enemy and wouldn’t donate his kidney unless he was given 10 million dollars,

Ok that sounds more accurate to what I am feeling sometimes right now.
The burning feeling didn't last long. Maybe 5-10 minutes max after the injection. The constant and worrisome metallic taste started maybe the next day if I recall.

I got the vaccine twice when my country still had what was called the covid pass. Without it you would have to get yourself tested before being able to go to places like cinema's, concerts etc. And since I did not want a stick up my nose every few weeks it seemed like an easy solution. Have not gotten it since, because it has lost its usefulness for me. The pass has not been used for 1,5 or 2 years or so.
When I did get it I felt a little headache comming up afterwards.
My wife became ill after the first time so she never extended hers. Her logic was: I`d rather take the chance to be sick rather than knowing I will be sick for sure.
To each their own.

AB- is the most rare. But then being B+ doesn't fill me with confidence either. Yet my father was O positive. Go figure.

This point I agree with “to each their own.” This happened to one of my coworkers. I don’t remember if she went back for another round though.
