COVID Vaccine: What to expect

I’m O-. Would be very tough for me to get a blood transfusion if I was involved in a severe accident that required that procedure to be done.
Understandable....that's 2% less than even my B+. Luckily I've never required a transfusion in my entire life.

I'm just really curious about something, how do people on this forum, or any forum at all, know which information is correct and which is false? Maybe I shouldn't ask questions about this, it just strikes me as odd.
Reputable and generally accepted sources = "correct" and sources generally accepted as non-reputable = "false"?

Most would regard information supplied by government agencies such as the FDA as being "correct" information and would trust that such agencies wouldn't be supplying "misinformation".

I put that in there to be safe. Misinformation refers to claims that the vaccine causes autism, alters DNA, them not being properly tested/developed, them having microchips, claiming they caused widespread casualties/the deaths of various celebrities when it was other causes not attributed to the vaccine

From my research, side effects are possible but they are on the less common side. If severe side effects occur (like heart problems, which aren’t common) one should go to their doctor.

Have had it myself, and the way I'd describe the experience is "mildly annoying".

I dont like needles so I tend to get a bit anxious, and then after that, my arm gets sore.

But then again, I'm usually sore in some way or other, so... that's not exactly a unique situation.

Arm soreness is the worse Sophie. I’m not fond of needles yet for some reason I don’t run out of the building as soon as the needle is ready.

Had 3 rounds of Pfizer as well... 2nd and 3rd doses made my arm sore and ill just for a day then I was fine.

Speaking of spreading misinfo...I think I recall a forum member couple years ago saying we were all going to die 2 years after taking the vaccine.. and yet here we are. *shrugs* Sorry to disappoint.

I’m gonna guess the mods removed that comment right away when that happened a few years back. The amount of misinformation is astounding

I have to admit in the case of all three inoculations done by county health workers, they all did a really good job of administering what I consider near-painless shots.

But then I can compare them as a Navy dependent to how rough a Navy Corpsman can be towards a child when it comes to shots.

Sorry for the silly question but what is a navy dependent/navy corpsman? Something to do with the Navy?

My father was a career Naval Officer, making my mother, brother and myself "Navy Dependents". When I had no choice at all in being given many inoculations for illnesses not necessarily common in the USA. When we had to live on the island of Guam for a couple of years.

Even as a kid, Uncle Sam really stuck it to me. Though no one has ever "thanked me for my service"...lol.

Corpsman are combat medics/nurses. Usually men. In peacetime most of them serve in stateside dispensaries (hospitals) where naval personnel and their dependents go for medical care. Which sometimes may or may not be equivalent to the quality of civilian medical care.

Car broke down and we had to take the local taxi on Guam:

As you can see , I wasn't amused. Git me awf this thang!

I collect my own evidence from credible sources. my covid data came from my provincial government. plus, also you can test the data using, Statistical tests.

I've had three. I got a few side effects on the same day, like headache and tiredness and achy limbs, but that wore off after a good night's sleep. And that was it.

I wish people would stop making up conspiracy theories about it. It's just an injection. Millions of people have the flu jab every year and nobody objects or makes up silly rumours about it, so it's the same with the covid vaccines. Ever since the covid vaccines were first rolled out there has been a noticeable decline in covid deaths, to the point where society has returned to normal (where I live anyway).

Now that covid has ran its course and has become becoming endemic and only people who are susceptible or unvaccinated can get sick I did a five-sigma limit to determine the probability of not getting infected. To my surprise it was one in a million with failures happening on only three specific days. The three days when everyone got together to celebrate new year's So if you capable of getting it you have a very slight chance of not getting it if exposed to it.

I've had seven covid shots. Moderna (aka spikevax), Pfizer/BioNTech and the latest one ("bivalent" I think).

Sometimes a slight ache in my arm for about a day.

No other side effects.

Also isn’t this blood type rare? I remember watching a South Park episode which stated one of the characters had type -AB blood and was in need of new kidneys, while the only person that was compatible with him was his worst enemy and wouldn’t donate his kidney unless he was given 10 million dollars,
Yes, it is rare, my deceased, brother shared my blood type we agreed to donate his organs. only 60 recipients
available in the province of 14 million people.

My 14 year old and I got the most updated Novavax Covid shot version three days ago at a CVS pharmacy, after it just was approved and delivered locally there, with the only side effect for me was a slightly sore upper arm for about a day (starting about twelve hours after the injection) where the shot was administered. Our son has had no side effects as of yet. This pharmacy accepted our insurance to cover it, whereas Costco, the only other local provider of that specific vaccine did not.

I decided on this type of shot instead of the mRNA Moderna and Pfizer's, as I had 4 Pfizers before and 1 Moderna and wanted to try something new and since I got Covid last December anyway despite those other vaccines. They only created a sore arm too though, so not much difference for the side effects there. I just wanted to try a new Covid vaccine that works in a more traditional way, to supplement the mRNA newer technology vaccines. We were apparently the first ones at that place to get that shot, from what she said. Not enough demand or people never heard of it I guess.
