Disappointing people

You know something about bigots, it won't be long until they find a reason to discriminate against or attack you. They always find something about someone to attack. Could be clothes, hair, posture, voice, or something you never even thought about, literally anything. Might not be quite as bad as out and out racism like in this case, but they will find something. Hence solidarity, because if not, you could be next.

They always find something about someone to attack.
This is 100% correct. We see it again and again throughout history. It usually degenerates to picking on the one people that can't fight back, the people with no voice. Poor People.

That's actually how my country got colonised.

Tonight is rubbish night, and it’s not uncommon to see someone fishing through people’s recycle bins looking for bottles and cans. This afternoon was a little different, a couple of middle class looking old ladies. I felt sorry for them, they must find it embarrassing, so I took the few empty cans that I had out to them.

Then they spoke to me. They’re sick of seeing Asian people collecting cans and so their church group organised to go out and collect as many cans as they can so the Asian people can’t have them.

If I see that poor old Korean man come past I’m going to give him $50.

Someone at war with basic compassion. With an intent to deny others their right to life, liberty and a pursuit of happiness likely motivated by cultural and racial differences.

All while probably hiding behind laws designed to promote religious freedom. Sadly it all sounds quite familiar.

Think about that: Women from a church group. Wow. Just terrible and despicable. Wouldn't you think there's a special place for people like that in....?

Being a Christian myself, this and other acts of hatred sicken me to no end. Especially those ordained by churches.

What you witnessed is especially aggravating because it's not even something that's their business. I'd make it my personal mission to give whatever I could to every Asian I saw just to counteract that nonsense.

Am I the only one who finds this type of thing hilarious? It's so pathetic that even calling it pathetic is just too expressive. I mean, they hate these specific people (local Asians who dumpster dive) enough that they're competing for cans worth pennies. 'Scuse me while I ROFL. Not really change makers, you know? At least they aren't bombing an abortion clinic today.

I will say there's an epidemic of small churches and "home-school" types that go berserk with tacky, mean spirited, and borderline psychotic community projects...but that's a totally different thread. I will caution against giving that dude fifty bucks unless you know he needs it or something. Plenty of people with money engage in exentric "frugal" behaviors and dress like bums. And, if he is destitute, he might think you're easy to get stuff from, so mind that too.

Those two women seem hateful that they act based on race. That their religious leaders promoted what they are doing is most un-christian. They are acting like sheeple, refusing to think about the ethics of their actions because it is blessed by a so-called moral authority. Such is the reason I am non religious. Having dealt with dissaproval in my life I will not tolerate racial animosity, especially from the religious. Plus, as I have worked and traveled in Asia there is much we can learn from those societies.

It takes religion to foster hatred of others. I once counter picketed a group from Westborough Baptist Church who are rabidly degenerate as they picket funerals of vets to protest against the LGBTQ community.

I've watched all of the Louis Theroux documentaries about the Westborough Baptist Church. Scary stuff.

I lived twenty minutes from K-town when l moved to LA. I had my favorite Korean store where l could find anything pickled. And the deli section was so clean and inviting. This store understood the concept of a community meeting place and it was an integral part of the layout. It really helped me thru trauma that l was processing at the time. I even tried a bath house in K-town which was a relaxing experience.

I also was right in Thai town which had the best foot and hot stone massages, and lots of pretty gelatin desserts. I could buy shredded green papaya and make a spicy Vietnamese salad with it.

It's quite shocking to read that people dislike other people and that the church seems unable to stand up for acceptance of others.
