I would recommend a helmet. I got hit by a bus as a child on a bicycle without a helmet and it was pure luck that I made it without serious dain bramage.

For my parents yes. Largely because of the head trauma I had to be put in a chemically induced coma for 3 1/2 weeks. Obviously I've worn a helmet ever since.
