Does Anyone Want To Talk About Star Trek?

I like all of the series. Even *gasp* Enterprise. For some reason I always pick a "favourite" character who makes it easier to ignore the things that I don't like or don't make sense, e.g. discontinuities or plot fails. In Enterprise my favourite character was Trip. In Next Generation it was Ryker. In Original Series it was Spock. In Voyager it was Janeway and in DS9 it was Chief O'Brien. In the new movies it's definately Scotty.

I have never been really big into Star Trek, unless you count Voyager which I watched weekly when I was a kid. I barely remember it though.
I love catching the movies when they are on, and I've seen both of the newest. Although the two recent Star Treks did not impress me terribly I appreciated that the director kept the cute campy attitude of the original (original original) series, and the Philosophical element was still intact. It looks like Star Trek has been touching on Religious Strife and Genocide a lot recently. The movies used to be more obscure. Star Trek Generation 8 looks to have taken the Hegelian Dielectic as inspiration for instance, so maybe the recent movies are an improvement and it will only become more obvious with time. >.>

I enjoyed much of TNG and I also liked DS9. Voyager was kind of meh !
I hated ST: Enterprise and thought the casting of Scott Bakula was very ill-judged.
I personally find the idea of the Borg Collective very comforting.

I began watching "Enterprise" and hating it. Stuck with it out of curiosity, and yes I eventually came to love the show. Mostly because of certain characters like T'Pol I suppose.
