Dream Jobs

As long as I get paid to do what I do now, I'm fine.

I hate the word job as it comes with "working" and as soon as I'm doing something that I consider working and not really "having fun", then I'm in the wrong spot. That doesn't mean I hate the idea of paid labour. It shouldn't feel like "Oh boy... I have to get up and go to work again".

That being said, if I'm talking about a dreamjob, it's probably writing, doing illustration, creating an interesting fictional universe and pretty much make money of that while expanding it.

I don't need to make tons out of it, but at least enough to not make me live a stressful live and not be sure how I'm gonna survive the next month. Of course a bit extra to make sure I'll keep inspired by doing "fun" things, have a side hobby here or there, things like that. I'm not that much of a traveller, so I don't need to make tons for travelling. Also, having some cash to actually license some software I use might be a good idea. Pretty much company investments.

I don't really have the urge to contribute to society in terms of being a doctor. I'll rather provide a sort of "luxury" item... art in this case.

I think at this point I wouldn't mind to do psychic stuff again, it's easy, it's fun, it's FUN :D the only problem is, sometimes it seems that people who use this kind of servises expect it to be like in movies, something like "oh, yeah, I see on 12th of December a young man on a white horse will stop by your house, and his name is... Etc" :) but still, one of those things I really enjoyed doing, if only people could just take it as is without complaining :)

Living my team job now.

I work downtown overlooking the city in a huge office of cherry furniture with a wrap around desk and that turns into a credenza with two chairs for visitors. I can close my door and have peace and quiet. I work as a CPA & CGMA. I have six certificate on my wall and should have another shortly. I study like crazy and love what I do. Yes, Aspies can exceed in the work world if you are obsessed and have skills. OK, I don't have the social skills but I have learned much and turn out results.

psychic stuff?
:D yeah, I've been doing readings for friends, family and acquaintances since high school. Some took it seriously, some had fun with it. Then I briefly worked as a Tarot reader in Ireland for one of the major Tarot reading companies. To be honest, it seems that you don't really need to have any special abilities to work for those companies, you can present yourself as anything you want, you'll be hired as long as you look like you know what you're doing.
I think, it is sort of an entertainment job, but then a moment might come when people start asking about serious stuff.... I mean, it's stressful, but as long as you don't take yourself too seriously, you should be fine.
and... It's probably weird for someone on the spectrum to be interested in this kind of stuff... I don't know.... Maybe not that weird :)

Im really sorry if this makes you mad, but it sounds like your saying that all the jobs youve worked in psychic stuff know its just an entertainment thing? Or do you really try to give readings into the future? Idk. Iv never had a firm skepticism or belief in that stuff. Still undecided haha

Dream job? Hmmm. I want to do that simple, laid-back, entry level work I did 3 years ago but I want to get paid big bucks for it haha Installing industrial siding is considered the "grunt work" of my company. So much manual labor and swinging hammers. But I LOVE it! It doesnt pay good though. I almost wish I didnt get promoted :/

Don't worry, it doesn't make me mad :D some of the people I did readings for didn't believe in it either (usually guys) :) I would tell them, "I need someone to experiment on, can you?" and they would go, "sure". Some would start criticizing, but I'm like, it's not any more insane, as, let's say, faith in God (sorry if you're a believer). I've always been different in many ways, so I'm just being myself. I described my position in a different post, I didn't expect any replies but still posted it. And I wish I was one of those people who find dead folks in woods, helping investigations and stuff, that's exciting :D I'm not sure if I could do something like that, but I predicted lots of stuff, some of it was pretty accurate, so I know it's possible :) at least it's possible in my universe :D

As for construction work, I thought you guys were paid if not extremely well, at least desently... A couple of years ago I've even been thinking to get trained to do some work (the training was free apparently) not just earn money but, primarily, to fix our house :D well, that idea didn't last long, I think I wouldn't survive with a bunch of construction guys... Not sure, it depends, I guess, what kind of people they are...

As I understand it, agnostic means someone admits that they dont know everything about higher powers. So then I claim to be a protestant Christian with an agnostic backbone. Meaning I believe in God but dont understand a lot of things. My grandma is Christian too but is really into horoscopes and that stuff so I really dont think psychic readings and belief in God contradict each other.

Construction management position pay really good. Believe it or not, a foreman for Sampson Construction Inc (a major local construction firm) gets paid slightly more then some doctors and lawyers. Right now Im more of a "tweener" for a smaller company. Not management but not entry-level. I get paid decently and am moving up in the company but I want to get the upper-foreman high pay without the supervisor duties. It may be more of a nostalgic thing, I just miss doing that simple, back-breaking work with my buddies and having a few beers in the shop at the end of the day :)

My dream job would be....
I would like to be what I had done while volunteering for 6yrs was a phone counselor. You don't have body langagues to worry about you don't have to see them all you have is their voice and what they are saying and that you can ask questions about them so its really ok if there is something you don't get you just ask. So I would love this job on a paid level..sniffle sadly I don't volunteer there anymore (the company got taken over by another company and i hated it they were trying to get rid of all the old volunteers so I quit)

I'd love to be an actress, it gives me a great escape from reality although the only problems I can see with it is the fact that 1. It's a difficult industry 2. I'm not sure If i'll be able to cope with the anxiety and pressure of the job :/

A tells me she wants to be a doctor when she grows up....

With a mom as caring and in tune with her daughter the way you are, she will be able to do whatever she puts her mind to doing. Even if the path is a bit bumpy, she will have your support and that is all it takes is one person to say go for it.

I'd love to be a rock musician in a successful band and tour the world and enjoy the interesting lifestyle. Another dream job I'd love would be a politician that actually get things changed for the better and because of that is popular with the public unlike most politicians at the moment.

Right now; I have a few ideas of interesting jobs... be it full-time or part-time, but all rely on doing it at home. That by itself is fine, since I don't like to travel to work daily and all either. However; the big issue is, that I need space to do so. It's no virtual stuff so to say, so I need storage and a workspace at home, and I can't really cram that in my 9 by 12 foot bedroom.

It's not neccesarily dreamjobs, I could see myself spending time doing those things and not feeling utterly ****** over doing some kind of labour.

Right now; since I'm busy with a lot of tabletop wargaming (or at least painting them), I might consider a painting service. For the specific field they are, and the fact that a lot of people rather pay good money instead of painting themselves it might be worth a shot. The alternative would be dealing in single parts for said gaming systems. As someone who buys single bits from some international online stores, I know there's no stores going on of this in my country as of yet.

But for the so called "bits" (as they're usually called), I need a lot of storage, for painting I probably need a decent painting desk, lights and all... especially if you're doing custom jobs and not just "whatever I think is fine". Add in that I probably need some area to airbrush (and learn to use said things) and eventually a small area to photograph things with good lighting for potential customers.

That's just a small idea I have floating around, looking at hobby and eventual employment (or at least a way to earn money)

On a related note; I could probably put a lot of hobby materials as tax deductable, which might save me some money in the long run. Which somewhat adds in to motivation... if I want to stay with it. Oh, and let's not forget that I don't have to deal with a lot of co-workers as well, nor supervisors.

But yeah, big issue is... at first I need a house/appartment of sorts.

Another dream job I'd love would be a politician that actually get things changed for the better and because of that is popular with the public unlike most politicians at the moment.

I do think some people who are oppressed because they got a disability or neurological condition can also make good politicians, as long as they work for the people :)
