I have been reading the Loud Hands anthology. I have owned it for some time but have only recently had time to read it. Wish it were an audiobook. It has been an emotional roller coaster to read. It is very helpful for dealing with the self blame cycles but at the same time pushes me to examine and reject the past in ways that normally I prefer not to dwell on. Given that my emotions generally feel like I'm driving a car with a broken gas gauge and I never know when I'll be close to emotional exhaustion or overload it seems this is a good experience for me to have, but it often leaves me exhausted.

It's a difficult thing to do, and takes time, this process. Yet, each time situations, occurrences, are reconsidered, held up to the light, they become less traumatic. It's
much like a roller coaster, but each time the roller coaster is ridden, it's less frightening.
Good luck.

I don't know anything about Loud Hands, but it takes courage to examine one's past and ask the right questions, so congratulations on that!
So I wish you courage, luck & peace of mind.

Same kind of thing happened when I read pretending to be normal for the first time, except worse then. Went obsessive on it for about two weeks and could hardly think about anything else. It seems every so often I need a book like this as a mental tune up.
