Favorite horror movies?

Texas chainsaw massacre (Dawn of the dead 1978) scream the people under the stairs last house on the left the thing (1982) Alien

Here is my list of horror movies that I like:
It follows (2015);
Let the right one in (2008);
Hereditary (2018);
The lighthouse (2019).
Due to quarantine, I stopped going to the cinema, so I want to implement a home theater. I am reading an article about what kind of projectors are used there to implement something similar in my apartment.

I don't like true horror movies in general but I do love a good ghost story.
My picks
The Others
The Sixth Sense
The Shining is iconic but wasn't nearly as creepy as the book

If you like horror you need to watch Possession (1981). It' one of the most disturbing movie I have seen.

It's my all-time favorite.

Star Trek the next generation 'Times Arrow' could be a horror movie in my opinion, what with the story line, and it's an extra long episode over two parts, anyone else agree?

I get really scared of some types of horror films (anything with torture porn is an absolute no because it's a trigger, and I'm not crazy about demonic stuff because I'm somewhat religious and I do believe in demons, and they scare my pants off). Not a fan of overdone cliches and tropes either.
Anything with ghosts, cryptids, or monsters is fine and I like a good story. I like things that keep me intrigued.
I recently watched The Shining (I'd never seen it before) and it was way less creepy than I anticipated. I was actually kind of relieved :sweatsmile:

The house on the haunted hill 1999!

Hatchet 1-3, the unrated editions, are pretty awesome. Hilariously awful movies, but they are quite entertaining.

Glenn Danzig's Verotika is also a hilariously terrible movie. Danzig just might be the next Ed Wood, actually.

Braindead, aka Dead Alive. It starts off really slow, but once it kicks into gear, it is one of the most over-the-top movies I've ever seen. Ridiculous amounts of gore, a kung-fu priest, a zombie baby, a lawnmower used to wipe out a bunch of the zombies, and it's one of Peter Jackson's earliest films on top of that.

There's a new trend of horror sequels being simply called by their original titles. :D

For example, the fifth Scream, will just be released in January next year, as Scream.

Cool.
