Favorite toys

I would love to go . I’ve been to Lego Land Windsor a few times but the Denmark one looks even better.

I was there in the 80s, in Billund. As you can imagine it was a huge deal for a kid who liked Lego.

Mattel’s quality is awful. As a doll collector definitely seen it go down. The plastic clothing and hair is so cringe.
Which is why the Lol Surprise OMG dolls are now my favorite doll brand. The hair textures feel nice and soft with some dolls and the clothing are pretty well made and don’t feel really cheap. Plus the dolls come with jewelry and accessories which Mattel rarely does now outside the Fashionista and Extra lines and the occasional generic necklace on a doll.

Stuffed dogs :) I still collect them. I actually have a few hundred since I’ve been collecting them basically my whole life  These are a few favorites.
They all have names and individual personalities… they all even have collars.

It is so sucky. Lol dolls although not my fact impress me with level detail and quality. Queen Bee (think that’s her name ) tempts me

Growing up I had those GI Joe figures (the small ones, not the original ones). I'll always love Legos. I used to play with K'nex a lot, too; they were like Tinker Toys, but plastic.

I’ve never played with K’nex before but growing up I ended up having two random pieces that my aunt gave me. It was really weird and I have no idea where they actually came from as she had girls older than me and they never had K'nex sets. They were curved quarter pieces. I didn’t play with them as there was really nothing I could do with them.

I always loved building sets and miniature figures. There's something really calming about putting small pieces together. Fidget toys are also great, especially ones with different textures or things that spin.

I loved anything that sparked my imagination, so action figures, building sets, and even a plastic toy gun were favorites. I’d set up little adventures where my toys had to complete missions or escape impossible situations. Things like LEGO made it easy to create new worlds every time I played, but even simple toys could turn into something amazing with the right story in my head.

One toy I’m getting back into is Lego sets. I want to buy one of the Lego Mosaic set that allows you to create a portrait and then buy a bunch of smaller bricks to create a portrait of Jem’s face. The shades of purple are perfect for her hair and makeup and I’m thinking of using transparent red pieces to create the Jemstar earrings.

I've been thinking about toys I owned and really liked as a kid. One of the earliest ones I remember was a toy horse that I could ride. It had springs and a big metal frame attached to it, and my parents kept it folded up and stored in the hallway but whenever I wanted to ride it they'd unfold it in the living room and then I'd bounce or rock on it while watching TV.

Kind of stinks that most toys that you can ride, bounce, or rock on are only made for little kids and not adults. Most adults would think you were intellectually disabled or some kind of freak if you did ride on them. But my mother once told me that when she was young only kids were supposed to ride bicycles, and you'd laugh if you saw an adult riding one.

When I was a little older I liked small plastic dolls and collectible figures I could take anywhere with me. It was fun having them "explore" the great big world around them at the beach or in the woods and other places. I wish I could do that again without feeling weird or embarrassed.

I know what you mean.
When I was younger, some neighbor girls had two Krazy Kars that worked as bumper cars.

For me, there were RC cars, Rubiks Magic glass puzzles. And I probably had most types of building sets of the 80s and early 90s. Tinkertoy, Lincoln Logs, Loc Blocks, Erector, Fastech, Construx. I played with Capsela in the hospital, but they would only let me play with it with someone watching the whole time, I believe they were very expensive.

But most of all I collected Legos for a decade and still have them in a box in the garage. Got my first set #722 at age 6 when the box said 7 and up.

Always thought it would be cool as a kid to see Billund Denmark too.
