Flash of light.

Hi, so , today i had a weird experience.

During my work i was stressed because i was a bit late , and during what i was doing, something fell a litte , to the ground, in front of me, when i felt at the moment i heard the noise, i had a very quick flash of light in my sight...

Is this related to asperger?

Outside the flash, do stress modify our vision? today i had a moment when i felt my vision was weird like a television not well configurated.

This sounds like you should go to the optician. I got told that if I start seeing flashes of light that I need to make an appointment since that's a warning sign of retinal tears/detachment. No need to panic, just check to make sure there's nothing wrong with your eyes.

i've had it once or twice I never went to the optician but that's because of panic attacks if you can go to the optician go I can still see it was probably part of a panic attack my GP said it does a lot of things .

Panic attack? i was just stress/ in a hury...i mean, i never said anything about it to someone.

I had moment that i couldt explain in my life, where i was powerless in y room, maybe i did some panic attacks , but this? i mean, you are not supposed to be able to do something during a panic attack right?

Ok, i have just research about it , the relation between vision and anxiety, and i have every symptoms kek.

So many of my visions problems are related to stress and anxiety?

This looks like a vicious circle where asperger triggers anxiety easier, and then anxiety triggers other weird stuff so you cant relate the symptom to the appropriate condition.

Anyway, i am still not sure about asperger, but i think i am generaly anxious since i am a kid, i mean, at primary school when i had to wait my tests results i felt like i was about to die ( i didnt think of death at that age but this was very strong feeling that dont have often atm, but had on a regular basis as a kid.) ; one day i had a bad mark to announce to my parents and it realy felt like the sky was getting dark , it changed my vision.

If you're having vision problems it'd make more sense to see a professional than it would to speculate from what you see online. Much of what you do everyday relies on having vision, so don't risk losing it by ignoring signs something's wrong.

I don't mean I definitely know you're having a panic attack !I just no panic does strange things to the body! but it could be physical !go to the optician! they can look at the back of your eye.
people who answer you on the Internet can't see you or feel what you are feeling ! what we are doing is just encouraging you !sometimes we might have facts .

That gonna cost me a lot kek...i still dont realy know for sure about ASD xD

But the weird thing is that I think i have a good vision, i mean, in calm circonstances i nerver have any problems with sight, but sometimes outside i have blury vision on a not so great distance and i need time to focus to see better.

Well i am jumping to one thing into another so this is not very usefull, thanks for your replies anyway.

I appreciate your warning, the thing is i dont think i have money or time to go to a professional yet. (about my vision.)
My fathers has a lots of migraines , i do have some too but less than him.

The weird stuff that got my attention today was that the flash was coordinated with a loud noise, i dont know if this is always the case for me but this is the first time i notice that.

is it free to see your doctor if it is he /she could refer you to an ophthalmologist at the hospital

I sometimes see flashes of light before a migraine headache sets in or also when bending down to pick something up and my neck pops. Also just from standing up too quickly. Other than the migraine issue which is scintillating scotoma. I have no idea why.

Never had a migraine but my mom often does. Almost never even had a headache in general. I've had many light flashes. Also when it's bright my peripheral vision looks pixellated like a kaleidoscope. Sometimes vision is blurred or slow to react too. So I just looked it up and supposedly it's all related to migraines. Supposedly an ocular migraine. Didn't know you could have a migraine without feeling like your head is in a vise. Weird.

Supposedly an ocular migraine.
These are silent migraines meaning there is no headache.

I've had quite a few of them and my Dad did too.
It looks like a zig-zag of moving silver lightening that goes across vision field and exits out the other side.
Takes about half an hour for it to gradually cross the field of vision. When it is right in the front of your sight it is blinding. At least this is how mine and my Dad's always have been.
The first time it happened to me I was grocery shopping and Dad was with me. I was very frightened but he asked me to describe what I was seeing and there was no pain.
He said it was exactly like the ones he had had all his life.
He was right, it did pass but I get them every once in a while.
Some get vision disturbances before the headache type
which is called an aura.

Retinal detachment can start as a flash of light but usually there is a dark area afterwards that lasts in the vision where the light happened.
Sometimes the eye lining tightens itself back and all is Ok.

Little golden stars can appear in the peripheral vision from turning the eye too quickly or rising up too quickly causing a change in blood flow due to a drop in blood pressure.
And yes, you are right about all the different things stress can do to the vision. Many odd effects.

Regular eye exams by a doctor or opthamologist is a good thing to make a part of your health care routine.
I just wrote some explainations on some of the things mention on this thread.
Please take care and get check ups from a doctor if you possibly can.

I know I get or used to get spots of white in my vision for a second. I was recommended to visit the optician to rule out anything with my eyes. I still don't actually know what was causing that; autism, psychosis or sensory, I don't know.

Today my head hurts kek, and just before i have actually seen a spot of light moving in my sight, but yesterday that was not the same at all, it was like someone light a lamp in front of my eyes for a split second.

Hi there

Im new here and your thread prompted me to sign up so I can offer an possible answer.

This sounds like an Occular Migraine to me, or, a type of synesthesia - I get flashes of light, like stars erupting if I hear load bangs and noises. Never been a problem really - no pain with the occular migraine, just an aura like pattern
