Fox New contributor Tammy Bruce has apologized for calling a ten-year-old boy with autism a 'snowflake', a term often used by conservatives to criticize liberals.
Her initial comment was in a response to a video of the boy, Michael Hererra-Yee, asking Mike Pence for an apology after the vice president accidentally hit in in the face, went viral last week.
His mom later revealed that he was on the autism spectrum, and said that she didn't believe any kids should be dragged into political conversations.
On Tuesday, Bruce, appearing on Fox's America's Newsroom, said: 'First of all, I am so sorry to the family, My intention was never to hurt a kid and his mom.

'We had absolutely no idea that Michael was on the autism spectrum and, as a gay woman and feminist, I've spent my adult life working to improve the lives of women and children and those who are disenfranchised.
'I get it and I apologize. I also appreciated the boy's mother's public comments and clarity on this. A main lesson here, no matter intent, is to leave kids out of our political discussions. We certainly agree on this.'
Pence was speaking to a crowd at a White House event in celebration of National Military Spouse Appreciation Day when he bumped the boy in the nose.
In the video, Michael can be seen asking the vice president for an apology more than once, and which Pence finally obliges.
The incident sparked a conversation on Tucker Carlson Tonight last week, during which Bruce said told Fox News' Bill Hemmer: 'I guess we're giving birth to snowflakes now, because that kid needed a safe space in that room.'

The radio host went on to say that the boy 'pretty much stalked the vice president' to get an apology.
'He's seen it either on television, maybe he's seen it at home, perhaps, but he felt aggrieved because, I don't know, the vice president maybe slightly touched his nose,' Bruce mocked. 'It's pretty amazing.'
Following her comments, CNN's Jake Tapper interviewed Michael's mom, Dr Ingrid Herrera-Yee, who said that her son's behavior wasn't meant to be negative.
'Michael is 10 years-old. He is on the autism spectrum. He's a military child. And he loves the White House,' she said.
She said that her son is on the autism spectrum, and that part of his education is learning social cues and manners that children with autism don't easily grasp.
