Geek or nerd?

full

Nerd-Venn diagram

Do you consider yourself a geek or a nerd? Why?

:D

I'm not sure, probably a bit of both.
I didn't know there was a difference? 🤭

I just ordered the "Lego" version of the Ghostbusters Firehouse. Does that make me a nerd or a geek? :-)

I got a funky Fujifilm Instax camera for my birthday. Is that geeky or nerdy? This is a much more complex issue than I could ever have appreciated.

O o o o! I got a PicoFly modchip for my Switch Lite. That's nerdy right? 😸

Watching "Revenge of the Nerds" left me with a permanent reticence to ever refer to myself using that word.

I'm a geek....building my own PCs. So sue me. As if anyone cared anyways.... :p

I’m both, interchangeably, at all times!

I run everything from terminal and use Vim, execute commands and speak C++, that's nerdy :D And there's a ram in my PC ;)
I run everything from the terminal, use vi, execute commands, and compile from source. On Linux From Scratch. On an underclocked Raspberry Pi! :D

Once live-patched VMS on a running Vax 11/750 by writing to memory locations with mods I had worked out by reading the OS assembler code and binary on microfiche. Where does that put me?

interchangeable I think. Geek / nerd maybe suggests serious interest in tech? My serious interests include music equipment (bass n keys). internet security. Stock n bonds. European history 20th century political, economic, military. That’s it.

My current rabbit hole is the current global situation with the ridiculous behaviour of the US. It will be a source of fascination and horror for the next 24 to 36 months. Maybe opportunity’s as well?
