Hello. I would like to hear from people from the UK

Yate is a few miles from me actually - I was there last week. Funnily enough I grew up in Plymouth - about as close to Cornwall as you can get without having a Kernow car sticker in your back window ;)
Its always quite surreal when people know Yate lol. I'm almost as far from Plymouth as you can get in Cornwall, down Penzance

I spent a lot of my childhood and youth in Cornwall - some of the most beautiful coastline in the country. Haven't been back in years though. One thing I miss terribly is a decent pasty though! I make my own when I have the time, but getting an authentic Cornish pasty anywhere outside Cornwall or Devon is a challenge!

Not a fan of pasties haha!

SACRILEGE!!!!
Each to their own :) I bloody love 'em.

Well, I suppose they had their place in North Beach (S.F.) before topless took over in the mid 60s.

Or as Bertrand Russell was quoted, "Two countries separated by a common language." :p

As I recall, I don't think Doc Martin liked them either. But then he's a Londoner. ;)

I looked at that puzzled for a second, then nearly choked on my tea.
Fine wit, sir. Bravo!

Indeed.

On this side of the pond, we're usually the first to be puzzled over "pasties". :D

I had to learn about them from a learned traveler named Rick Steves. ;)

I had never heard of the feminine modesty (?!!?!?!?!) pasty until an ex of mine became interested in burlesque. Until then it had only been a short crust pastry marvel in my book. A traditional Cornish pasty is an epicurian delight (imo) though I am also partial to a good cheese pasty (substitute the beef skirt for strong, grated cheddar) or a vegan mushroom pasty. The original Cornish miner's lunch has to be the best though!
Fresh out of the oven, wrapped in foil and slipped into your shirt pockets, they even keep your nipples warm too :D

More a case of municipal "blue laws" than any sense of modesty.

Or uptight network television executives insisting that certain lead actresses wearing thin garments wear band-aids.

Well, it's nice to see some UK people here :) I'm on the outskirts of London, but originally from Eastern Europe.
