I couldn't think of a more imaginative title than that. Recently diagnosed and apparently the few people who know me were not at all surprised at the verdict. I can't think of much to say about myself other than 35, male, small, social recluse, hate bright sunlight, like weightlifting, single, etc.

I'm going for another meeting with people to discuss the diagnosis in further detail. But in the meantime, can someone tell me about the apparent link to stomach/digestive issues please? I've long had a problem where if I'm going somewhere this crops up. It is kind of awkward.

Also, constant tiredness? I think I yawn more than I speak.

You'll have to do your homework and find any scientific studies on it. Its not that hard, just do online searches. But do focus on 'Scientific', that is actual papers published in 'peer review' sources such as PLOS.

My experience is that all the other stuff you will find is unproven or supported by evidence. Much is just pseudo science BS.

Hi Sam, and welcome.
I have had some serious digestive issues in my time which have had major impacts on the way I lead my life, but I've yet to find any conclusive evidence to suggest they are connected to my Autism.

It's probably the fact that people labelled with autism have a marker on their DNA which is probably where there a marker for various digestive diseases .
If by some chance you don't have that Marker,it's probably from anxiety , if your mind can't contain your stress your digestive tract eventually contains it !but the problem is your digestive tract is psychologically considered the second brain, it is a very primitive! brain !but it means it can't cope with stress !which usually manifests into irritable bowel syndrome. .

Hi! And Welcome :)
I'm not sure I can offer any advice on the digestion and tiredness issues - it may or may not be related to ASD. I can't say I've had problems with the digestion part - but anxiety can induce tiredness due to poor sleep and stress on the body.
I hope you find your further meeting informative!

People with autism can have a lot of problems with anxiety, and that includes irritable bowel syndrome and disrupted sleep/insomnia which can cause tiredness and brain fog.
