Hello!

Welcome SageRose.
I'm officially diagnosed, but, not until three years ago at age 58.
I always knew my life was different, but, people weren't so aware of ASD when I was young.
I've had anxiety and depression disorders since age thirteen, but, when I lost my parents leaving me with
no family or close friends and no experience living alone, I really feel apart and sought therapy.
Asperger's, now called level 1 ASD, was suspected. I was tested and diagnosed.

This forum has been such a help for me to learn about things ASD related and a place to hang out with
others at night. I don't feel so alone and can talk openly here.
I think you'll like it and find it helpful too.

Hello, @SageRose! Most of us here have autism, but some of us are neurotypicals trying to develop an understanding of autistic people. I, myself, am diagnosed with PDD-NOS. I was officially diagnosed when I was 8 years old, and I am turning 16 in a couple months. Yes, you did come to the right forum. This forum has given me a sense of community and is helping me understand myself. I know, sounds a bit cheesy, but it is true!

We're glad that you're here! Don't worry, we don't bite, so don't be shy!

No, many here are self diagnosed. Don't know the numbers but if I had to guess maybe 30%.
