Help me think of an oldies song?

All good songs. So far the song that "feels" the closest is

ETA: "feel" like the pace and energy of it. I think it was a song about getting up or leaving the house to do some activity. It may have involved counting or references to numbers.

The rhythm of that reminded me of this>

City of New Orleans was my first thought.
But counting of time I thought of "Bobby McGee"

Going to work? I woke up, fell out of bed...dragged a comb across my head....

Numbers?

Candypanda, it might be Long Train Running by the Doobie Brothers! It lifts the soul and has synchronized ticking beats and is an oldie (60s or 70s).

Well, now I'm just being silly, but the song that just popped into my head is QUEEN's, I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR...

I know oldies can mean a lot of things to a lot of people, but a few years ago I remember listening to a song on the oldies radio station in the morning when my alarm (the radio) played.

It my mind it was something about a train or car and upbeat. Maybe someone was going somewhere? It might have also been a gas station but I cant remember the beat or lyrics to be more helpful.

The song gave me life and I could use that rn. Any ideas of what it could have been or where to start looking? I'm not in the same area anymore to just turn on the radio forever until it played (if they still use the song)[/QU

Put paper and a pencil beside your bed before you go to sleep. As you lay your head on the pillow think to yourself, “Please sing to me maker and wake me at my normal time.” Don't bother setting your alarm. Write down what you remember.

I've been in your situation, but not so young. One really low probabilty approach is to look at the list of top 40 songs from each year. I think Tommy Roe was 60's. I remember his hit 'Dizzy'. So you might start there in 60's and look at lists of songs and see it something jumps out at you. Its probably not going to work but is all I can think of and doesn't take too long to do.

I talked to my mom and she said we didn't listen to oldies music then. I was certain I did at the time and she wasn't around to know but what if the song was not oldies?

It could basically be anything then.
