Hi everyone!!

Welcome!

My advice would be: don't ever think "someday" for someday has a tendency to never appear. Seek! DO! Don't yearn for something, go after it. Life is too short and passes far to quickly for someday. Plan, act, and guide your life in whatever direction you wish to explore while you can.

If that sounds like regret on my part, there is more than a little of it underlying my words. I am just a bit old, after all.;)

All the best.

Thank you! I WILL go to Tokyo. :)

Greeting from GG.
My first meeting with anime was 33 years ago (I think) watching parts of 'my neighbour Totoro' on a strange two colour large scale led display at a technical fair. I was hooked.
Later in life I came across AKIRA on a VHS cassette. Wow! Later internet came lol.

I agree with Mr Wilgus that A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi) was cathartic, also my cheeks went wet all the time.
Kotonoha no Niwa (The Garden of Words) is also worth a look, the artistry is just breath-taking. And wett cheeks at the end lol

As for anime done from manga I have mixed feelings but can recommend the Bleach movies, for example 'Memories of Nobody'

I love Totoro! For my graduation project, I happen to be studying the work of Kazuo Oga on 'My Neighbour Totoro' for research purposes!

A Silent Voice is amazing, I've not seen 'The Garden of Words', but now I have added it to my to watch list!

What hooked me was in 2002, seeing "Spirited Away." The sequence of the Kami taking form at twilight and the way it was set to music was stunning. I think Miazaki set new standards for animation.

You will find Tokyo interesting. I had done some work out of an engineering office in Shinjuku with work in Takasaki. When working you are expected to socialize with co workers after business hours. That left me with few hours to myself. I swear, my hosts played a game of 'what can we get this gaijin to eat.' But I enjoyed it and the sushi that you cannot get here. The interesting thing was the person I was working with was not chosen for his discipline, but because he graduated from the University I went to.

That sounds like you had a great time! Not the biggest sushi fan myself, but I bet the sushi in Japan is great!

No worries there are always good ramen shops. There is a documentary about the best ramen shop in Japan called Ramen Heads. If I ever get back I want to go there. Thinking about ramen, have you ever seen the film Tampopo? It is priceless.

Hi everyone!

New to the site. Pleased to meet you all!

Manga (Mainly Naruto & One Piece), Football/Soccer (I have a bucketlist of all stadiums I want to visit), Writing, Animation (Also studying it), Drawing, Games

Place I would like to visit some day: Tokyo

Hi! I'm also interested in writing as well! I used to be into anime, though I am not as much anymore. Cowboy Bebop and Lupin III still have a place in my heart, though.

Cool! I saw you're into writing historical fiction, history used to be my favorite subject back in the day in school. Great profile pic btw! I loved 1917

That film was quite a visual treat. Have you seen this per chance?

Not yet, but I’ve been planning to for a long while since I’ve heard so many good things about it. I find it hard to sit down and watch anything, so that’s why I haven’t gotten around to watching it yet.
