How are you going to spend your Valentine’s Day?

It is already Valentines Day on my side of the globe so I just want to say

Happy Valentine’s Day! To all the members of Aspies Central. Let’s all be romantic and cheesy today..

:rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose::rose:

I will be spending my Valentine’s Day at home with my son and my husband probably have some food delivered.

How are you going to spend your Valentines Day?
Well I'm single, and it's hard enough for me to talk to women, soooo, you know.

Recovering from a chest infection still, and now to make matters even worse I've picked up a cold, damn you long UK Winter.

Update: Steve the Pig paints with his nose and his paintings sell better than mine:(. And I bought three packs of mash potatoes!!!! I'm a thoughtful person:rolleyes:, it's not like I waited until tonight to pick them up. OOh, and I got a free pink cupcake!!

I spent it at home shivering and sweating under blankets with influenza and a 102.4 F fever, like the 4 prior, and one subsequent days.

Even though Valentines greetings date back many hundreds of years, it's made what it is today by marketing hype to sell greetings cards, flowers/gifts and to fill restaurants, many of which will charge higher rates. I've always ignored this day, for instance I knew Valentines Day was around this time, but I've just had to look up exactly when, I see it was yesterday at the time of writing, so you see that's how much I care about it lol!

Even if I had a partner I hate going to restaurants when they're very busy so I'd agree to go another day instead and I would also agree not to spend ridiculous money on a greetings card that costs no more to make than average printed packaging that is discarded, I refuse to buy rip off greetings cards at any time of the year. I also definitely wouldn't buy a pointless gift at a ridiculous rate and I can never understand buying flowers, especially at highly inflated prices on Valantines Day, what can you do with flowers that are going to die soon because the stalks have been cut off, what possible use are they? If you did buy a gift surely it would be much better if it was practical? But nearly all Valentines gifts are just symbolic, E.g. you are supposed to like them because you are told to, they are therefore in my opinion a total waste of money.

I went to visit the development managers at the Manchester office as a way of finding out what projects I could be involved in. It's been over three months since I've joined but I still feel like a bystander. Ate lunch on my own in the Manchester office's small staff restaurant, came home, picked up my vegetable bag.
