How do you guys deal with the term "autistic" being abused online?

when people used the word autistic, yes it was an insult, but we internalised the word, calling ourselfs the very insult everyone else tried to hurt us with. kinda surprising, it became less of an insult, and more of personal acceptance to our problems, putting a word to it.
That is how the term "Christian" came to be adopted in Biblical Antioch.

Do people revive old threads here? I have a question.

What if people pretending to be educated about autism talk on social media about autistic people in a demeaning, dehumanising way, what if they indulge into revealing private details and mocking vulnerabilities of family members, spread false stereotypes and prejudices?

Is it worth doing something to counter spreading of falsehoods and prejudices?
