I just don't like popular/mainstream stuff

No one fits perfectly into any particular group unless they are actively tying to. Liking things because they're popular is something insecure teenagers do, most adults are capable of making their own judgements and refining their interests in relation to their own tastes.
 
I do not chose to like something based on whether its popular culture or subculture. Going in either direction consistently is still following a trend and predictable.
