I think I have Asperger's - help?

I have never been formally diagnosed. I know what I am, an Aspie but, when it comes to my life, it doesn't matter. I lived most of it not knowing, or caring why I was different.

I might not have tried the things I did and, might not have my career, my life had I known at a young age. I probably would have assumed that I could not do what I did. Knowing helps me see why I have the struggles and problems I do but, it doesn't change who I am or how I live my life.

Hi JayDigs.
Your predicament sounds frustrating, and familiar. You haven't provided much detail though, so if you are looking for advice or catharsis you may wish to do so.

Personally; I have spent the past several months trying to get help for my long standing issues with executive functioning. Is it aspergers? I don't know. Whenever I raise the possibility, however, I am always met with dismissiveness and incredulity. This, despite other professionals obviously suspecting I was on the spectrum, but apparently not enough to write any referrals.

I hope the fact that you are out of the hospital is a good thing from your perspective. It is difficult to judge as I know neither why or under what conditions you were staying there. I presume this was mental health related? If you went there to deal with certain issues only to walk away untreated that is indeed infuriating.
