Have you seen Homeland? .. i think it's CIA vs. Muslims.

Muslims there are funny. A person whom works here watches it.

@tree and @Mary Terry are leaning towards USA / CIA / and Christianity

Like MBTI:
e.g. I'm ISTJ ... i'm aproximately 51% on all four letters. But i lean more to ISTJ than ENFP, which is why I say i'm ISTJ also INFP.

Edit:
I am guessing this is some sort of joke or pun or whatever.
The references to tree working for the CIA.

And now Marry Terry, as well.
I didn't know she was USA like you.

Edited for grammar

@Mary Terry ... don't kill me. OK? ... If CIA tells you no, we insist. Tell them lunarious is good guy Muslim.

Edit add:
@tree can kill me. She has experience in CIA so i trust her 😎 that she'll not kill me

Qur'an Chapter 30 The Romans verses 12-16

And when the Hour sets in, the guilty will despair. None of those whom they ascribed as partners [to Allah] will intercede for them, and they will disavow their partners. The day the Hour sets in, they will be divided on that day [in separate groups]:

As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, they shall be in a garden, rejoicing. But as for those who were faithless and denied Our signs and the encounter of the Hereafter, they will be brought to the punishment.

Mustafa:
If you do not come to me for a good fight, i'll come over 😎🌹 Because you gotta fight like a Man, not drones ...no i won't fight i'll come over and make you feel bad and ... such 😁 then i'll take with me your TV 😁👊😎🌹😅🥰🙏🤲👍

Have you taken your medications today?

@lunarious as our resident authority on Islam, are there quotes about Taqiyya and what exactly that means? I've heard the term before but I don't know if it's something written about in your religious text or if it's not.

Are you asking me or teaching me?

Edit: I've deleted a couple posts.

Edit2: I added blue color

Yes, I'm asking you to explain since I've only heard about the term and I wondered if it's found in your religious text (ie a quote, which is the topic of this thread) and also, what exactly does it mean, entail, etc?

@Mr. Stevens quoted Qur'an

They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. (Sura 2:5)

Qur'an 2:1 says:
ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Translation:
This is the Book, there is no doubt in it, a guidance to the Godwary,

Blue is the word Taqwa (you @Magna say Taqiyya)

Qur'an 42:27 Were Allah to expand the provision for [all] His servants, they would surely create havoc on the earth. But He sends down in a [precise] measure whatever He wishes. Indeed, He is all-aware, all-seeing about His servants.

@Mr. Stevens

From Dao de Jing...
No guilt is greater than giving in to desire,
No disaster is greater than discontent,
No crime is more grievous than the desire for gain. Therefore,
Contentment that derives from knowing when to be content is eternal contentment.

Chapter 100 Qur'an
By the snorting chargers, by the strikers of sparks [with their hoofs], by the raiders at dawn, raising therein a trail of dust, and cleaving therein a host!

Indeed man is ungrateful to his Lord, and indeed he is [himself] witness to that!
And indeed he is an avid lover of wealth.

Does he not know, when what is [buried] in the graves is turned over, and what is [concealed] in the breasts is divulged, on that day their Lord will be well informed about them [and their deeds]?

To-night i read chapter 42,

Chapter 107: Did you see him who denies the Retribution? That is the one, who drives away the orphan,
42:17-18
It is Allah who has sent down the Book with the truth and [He has sent down] the Balance. What do you know—maybe the Hour is near! Those who do not believe in it ask [you] to hasten it, but those who have faith are apprehensive of it, and know that it is true. Indeed those who are in doubt about the Hour are in extreme error!

Conclution: I shouldn't to hasten or ask to hasten The Hour and God's Vengance...

42:41
As for those who retaliate after being wronged, there is no ground for action against them.

42:42
The ground for action is only against those who oppress the people and commit tyranny in the land in violation of justice. For such there will be a painful punishment.

Chapter 42 verses 36-39

Whatever you have been given are the wares of the life of this world, but what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have faith and who put their trust in their Lord —those who avoid major sins and indecencies, and forgive when angered; those who answer their Lord, maintain the prayer, and [conduct] their affairs by counsel among themselves, and they spend out of what We have provided them; those who, when afflicted by oppression, defend themselves.

Comment: Allah is saying "En Gard" 😎🙏😁🤲😎🌙💂‍♂️🌹!!! He is not saying be evil!!

Imam Musa Al-Kazim (as) said:
When two things come your way and you do not know which one is good and correct, determine which one of them more closely matches your desire and then oppose it, for most good is found in opposing your desires.

What if the situation is walking by a person who just moved to your neighborhood and your desire is to introduce yourself and welcome them rather than just walk on by and say nothing?

Right. We should be social.

However for majority of population, they may have so-called "Social Anxiety". We should be Social.

Sometimes being Social is not the best option. Sometimes we need to be a-social.

I ... would ask an expert. (edit) but asking weakens you. You can ask Allah though. I ask Allah and my mother.

This is a great quote and a topic worth thinking about. I get the impression desire here means something like yearning or craving, as opposed to mere preference. It's so easy to think we need unnecessary things for happiness, but this never seems to lead anywhere healthy.

So ... regardless of preferences or yearnings and cravings:

Allah says in 2:286
Allah does not task any soul beyond its capacity. Whatever [good] it earns is to its own benefit, and whatever [evil] it incurs is to its own harm
. ‘Our Lord! Take us not to task if we forget or make mistakes! Our Lord! Do not place upon us a burden as You placed on those who were before us! Our Lord! Do not lay upon us what we have no strength to bear! Excuse us, forgive us, and be merciful to us! You are our Master, so help us against the faithless lot!’

Edit: It's sad to disobey Allah
