It's nice seeing WP members here

I was talking about wrong planet. I was banned from wrongplanet, but it's a good forum and I think everyone should give it a shot. It has it's downsides of course, the high-amount of traffic being one and the high turnover of posters being another. I remember seeing many posts saying "Where has everyone I knew gone?".

With that said, this is also a good forum hence the reason I am posting here! I'm thinking this will have more of a community feel to it perhaps?
 
Hmm Maybe it's time I promote my forum: the Spectrum. It's for Aspies, Auties and ADHD people. But the inactivity makes it hard for me to decide a suitable icon.

Remember, this site is actually fairly new still so it will eventually grow into a huge community someday, it will be helpful if you could recommend people to check this site out since you think its a good forum. :D

But when were you there and when did you get banned? Who were you there?

Did you get any mod warnings?

There has been banning glitches so maybe you fell into one too and contact tinky or DW a mom, they have their email in their sig and see if there was a reason why you were banned. If not, it will get uplifted.
 
In Singapore, thanks to our local forums' closed status as well as WrongPlanet's relatively high profile on the newspapers, increasingly there had been new members in WrongPlanet. While I wish to convert a few members to come here (which is kind of similar to WP but with a community feel) or the local forums, I believe time is not yet ripe for opening up our forums. Our local forums require unprecedented things that other forums do not have or need, like screening of members and closing certain sections from public view, because the situation in Singapore is that there are too diverse demands that Singaporean autistic/Asperger's communities have. We want to have more forms of support, yet paradoxically, we want to receive them privately behind the privacy screening, most probably due to Singaporeans being ignorant of the plight that autistics have.

As I angrily reacted to a local reporter who covered us, albeit in a negative way that attracts more controversies and misunderstandings than real help for us: If I know you people are going to write solely on our problems, I tell you, so do the NTs too. You think you can bully us by your 'normalness'? You are doing extreme disservice to us!
 
We are not that closed now. You guys can join the Spectrum but the members must be administrated by me. To avoid web spiders and bots

so you see my intentions it's not that I dun trust people it's the web itself. My first forum before Beyond Word got Spiders and stuff and eventually was turned upside down.
 
Yup. I guess we have to screen members on our project.

I really hope, deep inside me, that you can stop think yourself as the leader of our community. I also want to lead, but I often get misunderstood and brushed aside --- but I am still doing things. I am not satisfied playing second fiddle, having no say in any issues!
 
I never wanted to be the head in the first place. I am volunteering to help others... Temple Grandin does that too. I feel joy when another person eventually gets to change his life around.
 
I suppose I am the one that really feels offended for being the head, as I might think of nasty thoughts. To be honest, I don't want to be the head but I want to be influential enough to really have my thoughts considered. The truth is, is that the case?
 
I'm currently a member of WrongPlanet and I have never received any warnings from moderators. There are over a thousand members on WP (I think) and it is a large forum, but that's one of the reasons I like being there. There are more things to do there and more people to get to know.
 
I received warnings for posting replicate posts on Mi-she-gan. That's sad because they are presented in different forms!

However, I think it is a very good forum. It has lots of different people, lots of different threads and is very interesting. I'd definately suggest that people make an account there if they haven't already.

I made a sarcastic thread about Superboyian that got deleted by an NT moderator. Go figure.

And I want to be a moderator, but alex is like 'you gotta be recommended'. I would be a great moderator.

What are you doing, you was NOT meant to ask him that... That will really slim your chances of becoming a WP moderator.
I knew it was a sarcastic thread but according to them, it would be a offense.

I have been recommended 3 times but I decided to not do it and this was all the way back in January.

Indeed, I was also a former moderator for a website called Aspergic which I thought was pretty awesome and it was all unexpected, its pretty much the same thing what I do here apart from I didn't have the admin tools.

But I don't really feed myself with all that power tbh, as long as I'm happy doing what I do in a community.:H
