Many people view the grinning skull as an unpleasant reminder of their mortality, but to house wrens an empty cranium is just another home-site with a domed ceiling. In 1888, a Kentucky doctor reported that a skull he had saved as a souvenir of medical school and hung on the back porch had been remodeled by wrens. It was still occupied in 1945 when his son moved the skull to his garage in Indiana, where it was promptly re-wrented. Home is where the heart is, even if it’s a transplant

Fascinating!A special scull for Rodafina, the one in the pic in this article is a viking woman and she was a warrior. She was buried with sword, axes and spears here where I live and the way she was buried means she was not only a warrior, she was very important.

She opens the door for speculation about women and weapons, says archaeologist Hanne Lovise Aannestad, who has worked on the exhibition.
So were the women more warlike than we
have thought?
- This discovery may indicate that, says Aannestad.
- It is now completely natural that we are now questioning the roles. The time is ripe for interpreting in new ways.
I wonder if some of the women with weapons were autistic.
Don’t mess with momma! One famous story is about a pregnant viking woman who went to Canada and fought and killed a group of men who attacked her. She was several months pregnant. And very angry. That's impressive.
Let’s not forget the wee warriors.
