I bought these sandals last week and they arrived today. I don't care if they're immature-looking... I mean, I'm 23 and look younger so I can probably get away with it, but I will continue to wear them as long as they last because I LIKE THEM and that's all that matters. Same for all my other clothes, including my DuckTales shirt. My clothes are my decision, not society's.

I agree with you about your clothes being your decision. There can be something if a price for not conforming in one's clothes. People are more likely to make rude comments if you are non-conformist. They can also regard you as weird, or crazy.
Acting confident about what you wear, helps somewhat to ward off bad effects from not dressing like everybody else. Being comfortable in and with your clothing choices can be part of feeling and acting confident.
