Lifespan

It depends - it can lead to really bad paranoia. Although, I have had some magical moments too.

Yeah- "amusing". If I applied most of such metrics, I should have been dead some 30 years ago. :p

I am interested in doing a psilocybin-induced, psychedelic "spirit walk" or ayawaska. I don't believe it would improve my divine relationships, but it might smash through some of the unconscious stinking thinking stuff getting in my way.

Micro-dosing, from what I understand, is very effective, as well. Actually, it might put one in a state that could improve one's relationship with God and nature. That statement indicates: apparently, a lot ;)

Good thinking. Hosing down my brain, deep cleaning the crevices, and scrubbing my attitude would do a lot to improve all of my relationships (esp God)

Now, of course nothing is set in stone, but I imagine having all 6 of the below would suggest that whatever lifestyle changes I might make, it might just be flogging a dead horse:

  • Depression can shorten both men and women's lifespan by 10 years or more.
  • Even mild cases of anxiety or depression might take years off a person's life, new research suggests.
  • People with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have a lower life expectancy and are more than twice as likely to die prematurely as those without the disorder, according to new research
  • Researchers found that people with autism died 16 years earlier
  • Life expectancy for smokers is at least 10 years shorter than for non-smokers.
  • Loneliness has been estimated to shorten a person's life by 15 years

I don't really find it scary though. If anything, it's kind of amusing at this point.

This is not very comforting, but I watched a video posted by an Aspie about a research study that indicated that people on the spectrum have a much shorter average life expectancy, I believe it was about 55 years old. Maybe you looked at the same study? A chunk of that was due to the high rate of suicide. The rest seemed it might be due to elevated rates of heart disease and everything else (long list). I need to face my health problems - it's hard with my life situation, I feel I don't have the time and energy while also maintaining full time work. I am hoping to leave this position to focus on my health, but I hope that I can find a way to work on health even now. The hardest part for me is overeating. Because I can't get enough of the rest I really need, I end up leaning towards overeating to feel a sense of more energy. I don't even know if that works - it might be a psychological problem. But boy, I really think if I could just sleep, rest, sleep, gently workout - I think so many of my problems would get better. I really want to lead a full, healthy life, and I will fight for it as much as I can - which is hard when you currently feel bound hand and foot in many ways.

Crikey that is a lot of hamsters to counteract my autism, depression, smoking, solitary existance, etc. Probably somewhere in the region of 15000...surely having that many hamsters would affect my lifespan in a negative way too, particularly as I live in caravan.

Not sure how the cat/bird combo would work, always had a instinct to stay away from tigers...now I understand why.

Hamster Herding? Plus another 2 years for a good hamster dog.

;)

+ 1 year to lifespan for each swim in a lake, creek, or ocean.

Actually that is #5 on a list of stuff that makes life better if not longer; it’s posted on my ‘frig. At the top of the list is abstaining from a focus on the “negative news ‘facts’.”
Then there’s a cartoon about oh right I can’t post that here.

It helps to be a "the glass is half full" sort of a person. After a certain age, if you think that you are going to die soon, then you probably will. At 75 years old, I consider myself middle aged. I have every intention of living to be 150.

One of the secrets of my beating the odds.

I should have died aged 10 according to this, but then some of the deficits wouldn't have happened, which seems to throw me into a space /time loop of some kind.

Yep, i have all of these along with ocd as a bonus! I do not feel like living too long is a good thing either

At my age, and having experienced a good number of things on that list. I think I should be thankful that lists like that are never an accurate prediction of anything for they are nothing more than statistics compiled by people with an agenda.

This is the year the oldest baby boomers reach 80 years of age for first time bases on my statistics mean age to death.

According to who? Most groups, including the US and Australian governments, consider 1946 to be the birth year that kicks off the Baby Boomer generation.

Does not for the most part effect my statistics we are passing rapidly I was born January 1955
There are too many different variables.

The biggest of these seems to be quality of health and availability and variety of food during the early childhood years. If you got a good start in life then you are likely to live longer than most others regardless of hardships you may have suffered in later life. You are also likely to be taller - the Dutch are a good example of that phenomena.

Breeding also plays a huge role, I come from long lived bloodlines and I'm likely to live until long after I wish it was all over.

I trust my statistics bell curves are predictable As I found out with covid if you know the beginning you know the end. My youngest son turns 40 in a few months having a child who turns 2 in a month, probably pressure to get house, As older boomers pass and go into old age homes home prices will collapse, so a mortgage could halve. People Tend to be linear thinkers, curvilinear thinking works .
