An odd dinosaur. Yet a dinosaur.
'Lo Oliver, and welcome to AC! I joined this site not too long ago and haven't regretted it once. So many people on here are like me and go through similar struggles. Finding someone who's like me has been a struggle of its own; I've never really fit in anywhere, and my attempts to fit in have turned into disastrous trainwrecks. I feel so at home whenever I visit this wonderful community, and have gained so much insight on my Asperger's - and have also been able to give others advice based on all the experience I've gathered. I've only been "diagnosed" (not formally) with Asperger's a couple of months ago, and I should have gone to see a therapist sooner, years sooner, instead of sweeping all my struggles under the rug hoping that they would go away magically. But you know what they say, better late than never. I did make a few friends over the past couple of years who appreciate me for ME, and that's pretty darn close to a "soulmate" when it comes to real life.
My interests have been variable over my nearly 30 years of life, and some have diminished, others have completely gone, and yet others are still prevalent as ever. These include streetlights (diminished), sprinklers (gone), construction sites (always been present), drawing and making models based on my interests (diminished a lot), number shenanigans, like divisibility and 4-digit integers that start with the number 9 (a small part of it still surfaces itself), bottle caps (gone), Isuzu tow trucks (diminished), and the online card game of Hearthstone (prevalent, as I do more than just play it!) I don't really have any ambitions in life and I really hope to become rich one day so that I can just be a lazy bum and pursue my interests (keep on observing construction sites and playing that game, I guess...) I'd keep browsing Aspies Central, that's 100% happening. Love all the wonderful folk on here and you're gonna learn a lot by being here, Oliver. Welcome!
