Morality of Diving in Sports.

We have a rugby union league here too but it's not very popular. Too many stoppages of play, watch one man push two men's heads up three men's arses. It's like American football except without the body armour.

Rugby League though is very different, fast paced nonstop action.

7.45: that was an insane offload, bucket hands.
Good game. Knock on and some no try decisions were abysmal. Bureaucrat trying to be MVP. Good to see TMO ruining League too /s

When younger I played soccer, league and Aussie rules, competitively. Football (soccer) is my enduring love, a game of skill. I still have a season ticket for the local club. League I played second row when younger - I was at the upper limit of the weight division - and front row when older. I used to have a trick of swinging my head out and trapping the other prop’s head inside when he should have had the free head - gave me sight of the feed. He complained and the ref said he should “take it if he could”. Aussie rules I switched to when I was not selected for the regional knockout competition in soccer, despite have three goal assists in the trial match. Our rules team then ran out zone champions that year - our best result was 108-2. Soccer and Aussie rules I played left wing half-back.

Yes, my knees are completely shot. Yes, I would do it all again.

Watching football (the real football) today, diving is a blight on the game. Are they made of glass? When did you ever see Messi dive? Did he ever need to? Pelé? He suffered savage attacks later in his career, but never “dove”. Grow up, get up, and play the game!
