Thank you for the OP, since this issue concerns everyone, those on and off the spectrum.

As a former educator, the misinformation shared is the norm being taught in schools from beginning of time. It's called propoganda, which equates to those in power having control and use propoganda to maintain their power by controlling the belief systems via education systems and all other "group think" masses.

Change is the goal of those who are affected and can see the issues of propaganda being portrayed as facts. I believe it is admirable to do positive actions in helping direct light to these areas needing facts added, and removing myths and antiquated theories.

This can take time and much effort, and depending on where the power and money string begins and ends and who and what (pockets) it may effect, all will have weight in changes needed. Often powerful people have big, wounded egos and can't admit change is needed. So there are layers of behind the scenes issues playing out in this specific real concern you point out.

I am remembering a Dr. Max Gerson who proved hundreds of times in patients that cancer can be healed through diet.... and because he was one person and had facts to prove we can heal cancer safely without drugs and chemo, the masses who had the power to accept or deny his facts, denied him (after YEARS of him successfully jumping through their ever shrinking hoops.) and he was eventually shunned from the medical scene.

His facts, if made known to the masses, would revolutionalize the medical field across the board, meaning millions of people would lose their jobs of keeping us ill.

This curriculum issue may face similiar concerns. Especially as the Medical Bible changes criteria constantly so again, confusion remains which makes the need for accurate information and empathy.... that more confusing and problematic.

Bottom line, I agree with you, this needs to be accurate information, not hype. I guess that's where our singular voices matter within our environments. I have to remind myself, only those ready and able will hear the message.

My two cents.
