Is that even a word? Guess not lol. You all can call me Bloody. I’m 33, was diagnosed early on around 3 or so years, but for a long time hadn’t thought much about it beyond being anxious it would make me seem weird amongst my older brother’s friends. Dunno if it’s taboo or against any rules to mention other sites on here but there was one other autism related forum I tried around late teens/early twenties I just did not enjoy unfortunately. Hoping things go better here.

What ultimately motivated me to find a new place to talk was learning one of my nieces may have autism. Fairly certain sister is undiagnosed as well but not really for me to say. Just got me curious about many different aspects I’d never given much thought to before, maybe stuff that just didn’t have as much research readily available by means of random YouTube suggestions, etc. Really stands out to me in particular has been immune system, stress, temperature not regulating always making me run ungodly hot, burnout - most or all factors being a part of why I quit my last job and have been not so keen on finding new work despite hating to be a burden on my family. At least I figure if I can read about how others are handling things it may help.

That all might already be oversharing a bit. What else? Just some general stuff…well, I consider myself mostly a laid back guy who loves to draw, write, play video games and, just over a year ago now, begin to develop my own for several game jams which has been both fun and educational. I guess for a few random media interests there’s Zelda, Metroid, Berserk, Jojo, most anything by Satoshi Kon, Twin Peaks, Grasshopper Manufacture as a whole, more recently stuff like Asteroid City, Void Stranger, some old film called A Scanner Darkly. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask. Nice to meet you all!

Glad to have you with us, @BloodyKun108

Making up your own words is fine. It's part of the fun. Who wants to stop fun? Not me.

As far as the other autistic forum you are talking about. If it's Wrong Planet, then yeah. This forum is way different from that one. I was never a member there myself. I just read the horror stories from other members on here, who are former members there. Or just stopped going there.

Yeah. Autism makes you sensitive to alot of things. It's variable between individuals. But there are things between us that will definitely be relatable.

Imunno problems, stress, temp, and other things, are fairly common autistic problems. And then add Comorbidities like Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bi-Polar, ADHD, OCD, etc.

It can be quite a mess. I personally have a Anxiety Disorder myself. Along with other things.

I like drawing myself. Though it's largely rough sketched largely, more than anything. But hey. I like to go with the flow and not force anything.

It's great to meet a fellow Metroid Fan. It hard when you feel like the only one. Though, obviously I know I am not.

Thank you all! I meant to have a more substantial reply, but I’ve been feeling pretty lousy all week…today has actually felt like the worst of it yet. Not sure if I actually mentioned it at all in my initial post but immuno problems is definitely something I’ve been more aware of since getting hospitalized for both covid as well as human metapnuemovirus in the past few years. In any case, thank you all again, seems like a warm and friendly place so far.
