Night Owls vs Early Birds

I am a night owl as well, but life gets in the way of course (work, children). At this point in my life, nights are really the only time I have when I can remove my mask and truly relax and be myself. For the past few years that has really effected my sleep schedule, especially on weekends.

I'm running at a solid 10 am - 6 pm sleep time right now. If I was fully alone and without responsibility, I'd be okay with any schedule and I'd just adapt to what I wanted out of a day. Sadly there's more noise and obligations at certain times of day so it's awkward to move things around. Really wish I was free in this regard, I believe sleeping with alarms is very bad for you.
I got up a little earlier today around 9am because I couldn’t sleep. I was laying wide away so I thought I should get up and do something productive. I freaking hate sleeping with alarms it freaks me out. I’ll be in a deep sleep and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise. It makes my heart race and cause me to panic. Alarms actually cause me to lose more sleep by keeping me awake because I’m expecting the loud noise.

Night owl too. I hate that I'm usually exhausted (unless I'm active outside) during the day and can't wait to sleep but as soon as night falls I'm back to full energy and cannot fall asleep. End up getting less sleep than I need.

Years ago I was up day and night, now I'm usually exhausted when midnight comes around. And I like to sleep, if I'm awake all night I'm a wreck the next day, I feel terrible.

I often fall asleep as early as 5 to 7pm and wake up between 3 and 5am. But my sleep schedule is always messed up and I often have trouble sleeping. Sometimes I can’t sleep until midnight and then I only get 4 or 5 hours of sleep.

Periodically, studies come-out on 'night owls vs. early birds.' Any specific studies to note esp. as it realtes to the Autism Spectrum? This topic needs further discussions beyond the 'Off Topic Forum.'

Persoanlly, I'm a 'night-owl' of sorts, yet sometimes, I fit somewhere between a 'night owl' and that odd zone between a 'night owl' and the middle of the scale between a 'night owl' and an 'early bird.' Go figure.

I am very much in the early bird camp. I am nearly manic in the morning sometimes because I have so much energy. Most of the people in my life are night owls. Some people have strong opinions about which is preferable, but in my mind it's good the world has both kinds of people. Not much would get done otherwise.

I like being a night owl! I like to stay up and do whatever I want. I feel like it can have its pro’s and con’s sometimes. Being a night owl can suck when their are times when I want to go to sleep, but can’t shut off my brain. I don’t know if other people feel the same, but I was thinking about it and wanted to comment on it.

I also would like to be an early bird as well. I feel like you can get more stuff done. It can make you more productive with getting things done. It can also be painful to get up, which is what I struggle with. I try to do it, then I end up going back to sleep anyways.

I like getting up early and when I have I enjoy it.
I like the quiet and birds and nature sounds and my whole routine is better but when I am tired I cannot do it.
And also I like going to bed, earlier I am happy when I can eat early and be in bed at 8.30pm or st least 9pm but with adhd hyperactivity it can be,hard but the later I stay up I get tired and find it worse to sleep.
But on weekends I like to stay up a bit longer and lay in a bit more even I think u can spend more time in bed on the weekends
But I still usually get tired by 1am
