Non-Prescription Options You've Found Helpful

I'd be wary of probiotic yogurt, your coating your teeth with bacterial media could cause a lot of damage. My dentist thought was a crack addict.

My dentist died from a stroke a couple of months after mine, my new dentist younger. Tif you tooth decay is more due to genetics then teeth brushing. I you have bad genetics do not aggravate it by eating probiotic yogurt my wife never had a cavity in her life then had one when we both started eating probiotic yogurt. Her mother died at 86 never having had a cavity. my kids have her genetics. Both my parents lost their teeth at a young age was it the war or genetics I have a mouth full of implants. Cutting out sugar rubber tipping flossing does not help keep losing.
have to figure it out for myself.

OTC remedies for things like you mentioned: Anxiety, etc.

What works for me:

> Eat as many healthy unprocessed foods and meals I make myself as possible
> Regular exercise
> Avoid sleep deficits
> Try to think positively or at least counterbalance negative thinking with purposely trying to identify the positive, opposite of negative thinking in situations so I can view things with a more rounded perspective.
> And...microdosing THC in the form of edibles. 2.5 mg in the morning and then again at around 2pm. It helps my ADHD, anxiety and my PTSD. It calms my nerves. While the first four remedies I mention are an important foundation for me, they don't suppress my hyper-vigilance which is a big source of my struggles. The microdosing of THC does help suppress my hyper-vigilance. I have yet to find anything more effective in that regard.

I'm also taking COQ10. to counteract side effects from taking cholesterol drug when I do not have a cholesterol issue. Doctor assumed that my stroke was caused by high cholesterol they were all wrong, Stopping taking it would be dangerous. I suspect I caught covid very early. November, October 2019 I temporally lost my hearing in my left ear for about 10 minutes. Thought it was ear wax. now realize it may have been precursor to stroke. While in doctors office he gave me flu shot I was sick Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, had my company retirement lunch Thursday.
stroke happened month later.

I love puzzles. being in hospital put me on course to see what covid See was about my covid thread to see how I unraveled this puzzle.

Is that pure THC? No CBD or other compounds?

I looked it up: 7.5mg CBD/2.5mg THC. The edible (gummy) per square is actually 30mg CBD with 10 mg THC (Delta 9, not the Delta 8 stuff which I'm not interested in) but I cut each square into quarters.

For the first time in my life I've just started taking over the counter sleeping pills (3 days ago) to try and reset the habit. I'm not sure how successful that's going to be, I'll have to give you an update in a couple of weeks.
An update on the sleeping pills.

What I bought are Doxylamine Succinate 25 mg. This is an antihistamine, it won't knock you unconscious, it just makes you drowsy and sleepy.

My body adapted and adjusted to them very quickly, after 3 nights my tolerance was too high and they no longer worked. The first night was great, took half a pill and half an hour later I was out like a light for 8 hours. The second night I again took a half pill but it took me over an hour to fall asleep, still slept for 8 hours.

On the third night with half a pill I was having real trouble getting to sleep and when I did finally sleep it was only for around 4 hours. On the 4th night I took a whole pill and didn't get to sleep until about 8 hours later.

The groggy and sleepy feeling that these pills give you started hanging around for the whole day too, feeling like I could go to sleep but unable to achieve anything greater than a light doze. I haven't taken them again since then.

Have you tried a good indica or edibles that are indica based? I find that most edibles must be high in CBN and therefore are very effective at causing drowsiness.

I've been smoking weed for more than 40 years now. :)

I didn't think much of indica, it gives me an immediate rush and then nothing. I smoke sativa and get a lot of enjoyment from it and sometimes it does help me sleep.

My sleep troubles only started a couple of years ago when an idiot doctor told me "There's no such thing as autism, you're just suffering from anxiety." and prescribed me an SSRI - escotalorpram. I had no faith in that doctor whatsoever, I even told him I thought he was a poorly educated idiot, but I tried the drugs out of curiosity and now I wish I hadn't. It completely destroyed my sleep routine which in turn mucked up the rest of my life.

The problem with any ‘drug’ that works is that it stops working. Some stop fast, some slow. The exception is really hard drugs like heroin. If I’m looking for a long term solution, then any drug is likely a mistake (lots of experience). Any drug that I have used for sleep has always led to an average night of sleep that can only be achieved with more and more.

I have stopped taking most of my medicines and suplements recently and I feel better witm my allergies and sleeping problems. Now I take only Orlymyte (allergy immunotherapy), Controloc to treat heartburn and vitamin shake.

My goal is one day to do the same. Too many things go into my mouth that are meant to help me, but have side effects. Alcohol, caffeine, kratom, etc. Quitting sounds beautiful, but impossible.

How did you do it? Or, what was your inspiration to quit?

If you have trouble sleeping, a fat handful of fresh catnip boiled in water for 15 minutes makes a bad tasting but effective sleep inducer.

Easy to grow if you don't have cats, and, if you do, lock the cat in a different room while you boil...

Valarian root is stronger, smells much worse, and also makes cats behave oddly.

So many advices. At my nutrition coach education, I got the advice to find the next trend/hype, sell it for some months and then change it to the next trend. I prefer honesty instead.

The only long lasting advice I have found is to follow whatever rings true for you.

They simply didn't work. In my case those were antihistamine, nasal steroid and singulair. Those are easy to quit as quitting doesnt cause withdrawal. My symptoms didnt get any better or worse without them, like I took dummy pills, but I rathrr wont fill mysdlf with chemistery for no reason.

I'm confused as to why probiotics wear off, but yoghurt or sauerkraut bodies don't. Is this a gimmick that we must pay x every time and continue taking probiotics all time at that cost?
