On the history of gaming

At this point dating games have DEFINITELY become a big thing in the US, on PC at least. I dont know about consoles, I'm too lazy to check.

Cant get away from the bloody things on Steam. Even the indies have gotten into making them now.

They've popped up recently in the West but in Japan they're much bigger and have been for a long time. There are even such things as long-running AAA dating titles there and they're a big thing on consoles. And they're well enough known so that they're a recogniseable part of popular culture. Eg The World God Only Knows is about a fanatical dating game player, and a plot twist in Ouran Hostclub (the greatest romcom ever made - no arguments allowed) is based on them.

But has it made the Japanese have more sex? No! -

Why have young people in Japan stopped having sex?
