Parents of kids with autism?

neuroparent

New Member
Hi everyone,
I’m a neurodivergent parent and designer, and over the past year I’ve been building a support app for parents of autistic and neurodivergent kids. It’s called NeuroParent, and it was born out of my own need for help during tough moments—meltdowns, shutdowns, transitions, etc.—when advice is hard to find in the moment.

The app isn’t fully launched yet, but I’m now looking for testers who would be open to trying it out for free. The idea is to give out premium access codes in exchange for feedback after they’ve had a chance to use it. We also have a small Discord group for testers to share their thoughts or ideas.

I understand that advertising or self-promotion might not be allowed here, so if this crosses the line, please let me know or feel free to remove. I really just want to find a few thoughtful people who could benefit from the app and help shape it at the same time.

If this sounds okay to share more about, I’d be happy to post the access info or you are welcome to PM me.
Thanks for reading 💜
-Lauren

Lauren,
Are you also open to getting feedback from autistic adults to review the potential efficacy of the advice offered in the app?

I’ll be 39 in July and have been diagnosed with Autism since 1989 at age 3. A lot of people on here were diagnosed as adults. Message me if you have questions. That’s actually why I came here. Not only to share of my own life experiences both personally and professionally, but also to assist parents of Kids on the Autism Spectrum like I was growing up. When I was diagnosed, the odds of a Child being diagnosed with Autism were 1 in 2,500. Today, those odds are 1 in 36. In 36 years since my initial diagnosis, the numbers have skyrocketed. The world around us is also very different than it was back then. Awareness and Acceptance has come a long way even in the last 16 years since I started getting into the area of Autism Advocacy. I do that independently without assistance from any of the Major Autism Groups. I do however sometimes take part in functions through the Autism Society of North Carolina but very sparingly. I work full time in Security in which I have almost 21 years of experience.

Yes! I am officially marketing it as an app for parents of kids with ND (Autism, ADHD, etc) but it can definitely be used as an autistic adult. You should join our discord community. I don't want to break any rules here so just go to https://www.neuroparent.app and go to the footer and you'll find the discord join link. Just mention you came to test and I'll give you a code and instructions :)

Anyone that is interested in testing the app can sign up to the discord, https://www.neuroparent.app go to the footer and you'll find the discord join link) so that I can easily get into contact with you after you test. I have codes for 3 months free premium if you decide you want to give feedback. This app will be shaped by YOU! and other ND individuals. I want to make it as useful for you as possible.
