Actually a common practice in some cultures to avoid fruits like pineapple and papaya during pregnancy for this reason but have seen it work to induce labor so I dunno..Apparently there is a myth that if a pregnant woman who is "past her due date" eats it, it will help induce labor due to the pinapple having a 1certain enzyme (bromelain).
However, I should state that there's no hard evidence to back this myth up, so stick to your Doctor's advice.
There was one time, I had no appetite at all, but there was some pineapple chunked in the fridge. Probably about 2/3 of a moderate sized one. I ate almost all of it, and later that night my appetite came back. Must have been the enzymesPineapple helps me out whenever I have a gout attack due to the enzymes, actually.
I just want to quote this so I can hit the AGREE button one more time. But alas, I cannot on my own post.
