Pizza with pineapple imo keeps the right balance between sweet and salty - I like that combination, honestly pineapple is one of my favorite pizza toppings. I used to think of it as an abomination, but once I've tried it - there was no turning back lol

Some people say pineapple tastes good but doesn't go on pizza

This bunny has never eaten pineapple

Pineapple is called "ananas" here. Very close to bananas. :)
Ananas juice is pretty good.

Tech N9ne's favorite cocktail is Caribou Lou - 151 rum, Malibu rum, and pineapple juice. He even wrote an entire song about that cocktail, which I cannot link to here due to language.

This fruit messes me up bad. Party with it all you want but please keep it away from my food and drinks thank you.

I can't stand pineapple, the worst of the 'regular' fruits. (Obviously I'd imagine stuff like durian would be worse than pineapples but you can't exactly go and buy durian at any supermarket in the West, y'know).

I don't care for it canned. But fresh? Heck yes!!! My cat Cicero likes playing with the leaves too :)
.
But if you put it on a pizza, all bets are off. I do like it in some savory cuisines. Especially roasted. But pizza ... nope.

Apparently there is a myth that if a pregnant woman who is "past her due date" eats it, it will help induce labor due to the pinapple having a certain enzyme (bromelain).
However, I should state that there's no hard evidence to back this myth up, so stick to your Doctor's advice.

And I do make an amazing Pineapple Upside Down Cake :)
.
I know, I'm not really a desert cook. That doesn't mean I don't cook deserts :)

Minority I guess. dislike pineapple and along with most other tropical fruits... It's something about the super sweet, soury tart flavors that turn me off..

Actually a common practice in some cultures to avoid fruits like pineapple and papaya during pregnancy for this reason but have seen it work to induce labor so I dunno..

Pineapple helps me out whenever I have a gout attack due to the enzymes, actually.
There was one time, I had no appetite at all, but there was some pineapple chunked in the fridge. Probably about 2/3 of a moderate sized one. I ate almost all of it, and later that night my appetite came back. Must have been the enzymes :)

Natural acids, such as in fruits (pineapple, citrus) and vinegar - despite being acidic, have an overall response of the body to increase alkalinity. This aids the body's immune system, especially against cancers, which need an acidic environment to flourish.
.
Refined sugars, on the other hand, increase acidity in the body.

I love it. Have it, mostly canned, a few times a week, but fresh is usually much tastier.

But as far as on Pizza goes...

Does anybody else have a very strange experience when they eat a piece of fresh pineapple and then drink water immediately after? For me, it makes the water taste terrible and gives me an uncomfortable feeling in my mouth.

The pineapples in my yard are just starting to ripen. I’ve got a couple dozen coming on, if I can keep the possums and coons from getting there first.

Some pineapples are very sweet and low acid. Others can be bland or acidic and not so tasty. I keep fostering the former.

What I can‘t eat fresh, I’ll dry or can.

When pineapples are really ripe, ripen on the plant, they are golden yellow and smell heavenly.
