Please help

It takes a LOT for authorities in any country to take children away. I don't think you have the least to worry about. But I do understand your concerns. I have not had a paying job in nine years, many of them officially as unemplyed though in reality I can't handle 9-5. Right now I'm with my daughter in the psychiatric hospital because she has regressed to not being able to talk or walk (she's 11) and it turns out most likely the whole family is on the spectrum. In order to give her the best support the authorities will be investigating her whole background and support network. Now THAT had me worried for a bit until I checked up with other moms going through the same thing, several also on the spectrum, and they all told me there was nothing to worry about.

What you are doing is the best you can do. You 'see' your children and do your best to give them what they need and you learn. There are so many bad ways to be a parent. Yours is not one of them!
 
Yes I agree! I know it's an unrealistic fear but for years no one has understood me. So I felt maybe people will not understand me bc I am passionate and sympathetic and do have feelings I just go about it in a different way. I also have an issue with employment. That's part of the reason why I want help. I am always getting laid off or fired. I am a hard worker it's the getting along with management that has always been problematic. I'm sorry to hear about your daughters issues. I wish you guys all the luck and thanks for your support.
 
Ok thank you so much. I've been obsessing over this. I want to be diagnosed and want therapy or any services, support groups that are out there but I was always scared to get it because of this. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I've always felt like I didn't fit in.
 
Well one thing I learned more recently is that therapy (for me atleast) doesn't even work with most therapists. I still haven't really accepted the diagnosis of ASD to be quite honest. However I do know now that the only therapist that I wanted to try and make it work with specializes in ASD and learning disabilities which I cant deny I have the latter so. Connecting with a therapist isn't the easiest thing to do. So probably Id say don't give up if the first 1 or 10 don't get you if its what you really want you have to keep trying to find the right one.

I am scared for this too. I have gone to a few therapists and "expert" psychiatrists over the years and no one ever understood me. I have been diagnosed with add, depression, ocd but I never thought they got it right. The person I am going to for a diagnosis is a psychologist but she specializes in autism. I'm hoping that she will understand my "weird" thoughts and life.
