I mainly use Maxthon though. I'm not a huge fan of Gecko engine. And yes, I've seen your screenshot with the icon, along with uTorrent. However, as of a few days ago, I think I'm starting to prefer the torrent client, Deluge, instead.

Avoiding uTorrent is probably the best move. I'm personally an rtorrent fan. Deluge is supposed to be good, but I've never had any motivation to try it.

Actually, that now seems like a fairly important distinction...

Yeah, the window manager automaticall resizes everything to fit the screen in a certain way. I've used it to the point where I can't stand GUI's that don't do that in some form.

Deluge IS good.

It's written in Python. People don't usually like Python, but it's actually quite fast for me. Never have tried rtorrent.

4chan users supposedly like Deluge though, or I've been told, that is. Yes, despite my Republican roots, I tend to be an internet activist.

As for rearrangement, I hate those functionalities. I don't always want it to rearrange the way it does do it.

Also I LOVE DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT!!! Kingdom is my favorite song. Though, Diablo Swing Orchestra is BETTER in my opinion. The song, Exit Strategy of the Wrecking Ball

I'm a python programmer, so I like good stuff written in python. I did look into Deluge and while it is written in python, it uses bindings to the libtorrent library, which was written in C++, which is probably where the speed comes from. As much as I love python, it is not the language of choice for me when speed is an important factor.

rtorrent is a command line torrenting program, as opposed to a GUI like deluge. CLI vs GUI is really a matter of personal preference. As far as I know, 4chan users like both torrent programs. Come to think of it, there are several things that I use that I later discovered were popular on 4chan (rtorrent, linux, sansa clp+, ath-m50's).

I agree that the rearrangement can be sometimes annoying, but I have rules in my xmonad.hs file for when I don't want it to do that as well as a floating mode for windows.

Anything Devin Townsend touches is freaking good. That guy is such a great musician. Earth Day is one of my favorite songs by him.

Yeah, I've seen your .py file extension in your screenshot.

And yes, it does take from libtorrent. I know also IMVU is written in Python.

I use Sansa Fuze + for my mp3 player. I HATE apple Inc. I am NOT a fan of Linux. I was born and will die a Microsoft fan.

I don't like cmdline programs without a GUI. That's not my style. I prefer buttons and an interface. That's just me though, perhaps.

And yes, python isn't the fastest, but it's fun to learn about. That and I'm just strange and I like Python.

One of the very few coding languages I write in, though, is Lua and on a sidenote, Perl Regex. Perhaps a SMALL amount of javascript. But as I state ALL over the web, I am a TWEAKER, NOT a coder. Only VERY limited. I tweak codes, I don't write them from scratch, ASIDE from M.U.D. game triggers, scripts, and aliases.

I too hate apple and I don't want to give them any money willingly. I prefer unix-like operating systems and tend to stick with open source, so linux is for me.

I prefer working in a command line over a gui, so my preference is to have as much stuff in a terminal as possible. The GUI does have its place though (document viewing, web browsing, image manipulation, etc...), but I prefer CLI for stuff like text editing, file browsing, music management, installing software, checking email, and even sometimes for basic image manipulation.

Python is a great general purpose language. It supports many different programming styles. I hear that making python go faster can be done with cython, but I haven't actually tested this myself. I just logged into my work computer and it does have cython available, so I might give it a try.

I've messed around with lua to the degree of me making the luakit browser do what I want. Other than that, I've never used lua.

I don't like Unix-based either, actually.

Never have heard about cython.

Lua is fun.

never could figure out how to install stuff. At least not on Xubuntu.

Also it has NO registry. I LOVE the registry -because I can customize it. As I've said, I'm a tweaker.

Also you DO know that Mac is based on Unix, right?

On xubuntu, all it should take is 'sudo apt-get install packagename'. If you don't know the name of a package, you can search for it with apt-cache. Building packages from source is usually a bad idea if they are in your repos. If you are using *buntu, your repos probably contain everything you want.

Global config files are typically found in /etc. User config files are either in ~/.config or are hidden files in your home directory. Customization in unix is pretty unlimited. All of these config files are also in plain text.

OS X being unix is really the only thing about OS X that I like.
