Pretty exciting about what I am finding out

@William Weiler

I understand how frustrating it can be.

However, I ceased attempting to show myself to most others decades ago. (It is a less lonely and more peaceful path that way.) A few of my teachers were able to perceive my talent and those closest to me know what I am capable of. That being said, I am extremely introvert and do not seek acknowledgement from others regarding my individual being.

The other thing to bear in mind is that so many people in the world (have and) are capable of taking advantage of others who do not conform to worldly ideals of ‘fame and fortune.’

Nevertheless, I can also appreciate that recognition can bring its own 'rewards' and in that respect I very much hope that you will be given another chance to present your inch cube robot in the not too distant future. It might be beneficial to think about setting an alarm on your calendar and commandeering some of your friends as aids to remind you of that and any other upcoming meetings in the future.

Having only recently diagnosed myself at age 68, I am honestly amazed to look back over my career(s). At three completely different phases of my life, I excelled at what I was doing. Two of those times, to a fair bit of technical acclaim.

Yet, I have always been severely learning disabled. I can only learn by teaching myself and I became pretty proficient at doing so. I often had degreed engineers come to me for advice or consent and often helped break in new engineers in a highly competitive technical arena. Though I hired and fired degreed individuals, I could never earn my AA because I simply can't follow a teacher's thought processes without asking way too many questions for a public setting.

But all of that seems superfluous. Each of those phases of my life were alarmingly yet tediously similar: they were all, socially, tremendously impacted by my autism; any success was in spite of it. I couldn't communicate an isolation for which I had no name, so I plugged along through the NT slush. Of course, my private life was no different.

During the most successful parts of my life, I was allowed to follow my instincts and was judged on my performance rather than my conformance. I thank God for those opportunities to exercise the abilities he gave me. That's where I find satisfaction and fulfillment. So mind-boggling to now see that from the perspective of understanding my differences.

Yeah, they tell me I am a genius at work. But when I go to bathroom at noon I realize I have been walking around with my fly open all day. I am a genius. I also walk around with my fly open. How does that sound to YOU. I know how that sounds to me.

Actually I kind of laughing here.

I'm like that.

Don't fall for the G word (genius) b/s. its a fools errand. they're all social genii, so they don't need to note it amongst themselves, if they use the G word on you, it's a mark of contempt.

It is dangerous, but kind of like what I do is unattainable. They can't do it no matter how hard they try. Then I go on a pedestal, walking though with all eyes on me. Then it gets bad because no one talks to me. Is this really me, or is this something they want? Anyway, it hurts them. Every successful person I know saw someone do something amazing and either said that is nothing, they could do it, or they thought I am going to do that someday. This stops that process cold.

Sent to this to the guy starting the rumor I am a genius. Yeah I know who it is. I will let you know how this turns out.

Maybe you figured it out.

Every successful person sees someone do something amazing and either says that is nothing, I can do that, or I am going to do that someday just you see.

If someone is genius then what they do is unattainable. It stops this process cold.

Every top Physicist says they are confident and above others until they get to the place where everyone is as smart as them or smarter. For the first time they feel inadequate or an imposter. Relativity was on the verge of being discovered, Einstein just got there first. After repeated failures, he had to seek out mathematicians for help.

Edison was not that smart and didn't know much theory. He just tried thousands of materials for the lightbulb filament until it didn't burn.

Assuming that's true, it depends on how you define "smart." You say he tried thousands of materials for the lightbulb filament until it didn't burn, yet no one else did this? Perhaps that's genius.

Edison said invention is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration. I don't know anyone who work that hard when they were not sure there was a solution. I want him to think it is attainable, i can't use that word and wreck my argument.

William Weller, perhaps you should adopt the following stance:

"I'm a bit of an absent-minded professor type . . . You got a problem with that?"
