Sorry, I actually thought the comment was on a different thread. I was trying to catch up on reading comments and didn't really look to see which thread the comments were on. When I saw the wording, I thought it was the "this or that " thread. 
Again it would fit.
I'll go ahead and give it to you because your answer fits all the criteria ( even the criteria in the clue.) The answer I had in mind was a jacket zipper.
