Only Child as well. For most of my life i was glad to have no siblings, although as i get older i start to feel lonely and anxious

I wanted to make a poll and see who has siblings. Unfortunately, I don’t have any siblings which makes me the only child. I wanted people to share their experiences and stories.
I have an older sister, yet she escaped our household at a young age via boarding school and then university. It was practically a decade before I really got to spend time with her, and after that the pandemic struck, and now she has moved across the sea.

I'm the second of five children. My older brother died about a decade ago, so I am now the oldest. I'm close to my little brother and one of my younger sisters but estranged by my choice from my youngest sister. My parents really had two sets of kids. I was 12 y/o when one sister was born and 17 y/o when the other sister was born.

I have a sister 3 years older than me. We certainly had our share of sibling rivalry as children, but we also played together a lot. Now as adults we get along well like adults.

She’s quite the opposite of me. She’s always been very creative, and knows how to think for herself (she also appeared to misunderstand many of my ways, and comment on them like almost everyone else). She’s probably even accomplished more than I have in my life (not that I’ve really been interested in doing some of the things she’s done). But she’s also supportive of me. I can reach out to her and my brother-in-law when I need help or advice.

I'm both because while I do have an older sister, I pretty much wasn't raised with her (pretty sure when I was super young, like from birth to 3-4 years old, I was raised with her but after that?) and entirely grew up as an only child.

I have a younger sister. We did not get along for the longest time, ever since childhood, because we’re very different.
Now that we’re in our late thirties it seems like we’re finally developing somewhat of a relationship, though. As long as we don’t spend too much time in the same room. Christmas Eve with the family is about the maximum :p

I am in the middle. My brother is 5 years older than me and my sister is 5 years younger.
