Something You Did Today, That Most People Would Think Is Weird

Round #3
Jeep Go-Devil engine.
Overhead intake valve with a flathead style exhaust valve in the block.
A real dork of an engine, but the most powerful one ever installed in a Jeep flat fender (WWII era military Jeep)

After towing them in place, it requires dragging the cherry picker across the property to re-lift them from the tow rig.

After the weight is off the rig, I remove the tongue from it and hand carry it from under the engines.

From there, it is a wrestling match combined with pinch bars and chain hoists to set them in place.

Day three, three down and three to go.
One fully assembled Willys flat head unit, one Willys short block and one Go-Devil shortblock
Everything left to handle is much lighter if one can say that about vintage cast iron ;)

Wrastlin' these puppies ain't exactly a cakewalk :p

Well, I would class this as really cool and really impressive and amazing. But, I don't think I would class it as weird. At least my idea of weird. ;)
Did I mention really Cool!

I did something that many people told me was weird and wouldn't work. I wrote a letter to my doctors to explain my autism and my sensitivities and how my visits leave lasting trauma. The letter is to ask them to not do certain things that are traditional, but always traumatizes me. I sent the letter to my dentist, optometrist, and general medical doctor. So far it has worked. The only issue with the dentist is the hygienist, jabbers ceaselessly and tried to converse with me, even asking questions, all while my mouth is full of instruments and her hands. I never know what to do with that. But, at least everything else was a lot better.

If interested, I attached a PDF of my letter.

My daughter and I both woke up in the night with sore throats, and I have a rough cough. Negative covid tests.

3am, up with my daughter, breaking open the seal of a quart jar full of hawthorn berries and leaves, poured over with watered down everclear, that's been sitting in my closet since April.

Pushed down the leaves, twigs, and berries with a spoon and we each had a thimbleful of the healing tincture.

I was kind of scared, but it was actually a lovely, strawberry-like flavor. Not too strong at all! At least at first. About 30 seconds later, there was a big exhale of fire. lol.

I winced, yet again, at the aftertaste of a tincture of Hawthorne berries, leaves, and twigs, that I soaked in diluted Everclear, back in April.

Whoosh that has a kick! Only a tsp is needed. And it knocks out any cough.

I had to use a public restroom and the toilet paper was the most wonderful I've ever used.
Charmin doesn't have anything on this, whatever brand it was.
So soft and thick.

I couldn't find any brand or name on it, so I looked in the cabinet in hopes to find a roll still in it's wrapper. Lots of rolls, no wrappers!
Eeek, I've got to find what brand this is.
I folded up some sheets and put them in my purse. I can look for the design on the paper that way.
Quilted Northern Ultra Soft is the best. It is incredibly thick and plush.

Asked my friend what kind of reaction she wants if she'd tell me about her love interest (like, understanding, logical, silent etc)

After a few failed attempts at swatting a bee away from my lunch, I explained to it that I really needed to eat my lunch in peace today. I think the part that most people would think is weird is that I swear it worked, because it flitted away promptly.

I am cooking Loco Moco for a late brunch.

Mine has chicken instead of hamburger though.

It's Hawaiian poverty comfort food.

Normally, this is how it's made:

Layer 1: Rice

Layer 2: Hamburger patty

Layer 3: Gravy

Layer 4: A fried egg.

But this is how I made it today:

Layer 1: Rice

Layer 2: I fried up chopped up chicken thighs in olive oil. Into the pot I also added peas, parsley, green onion, sage, and himilayan sea salt. I then made that into a nice stew-like gravy.

Layer 3: A fried egg.

It sounds weird, but it's probably one of the tastiest meals on the planet. Good for when someone's got a cold, and they're getting their appetite back.

That sounds good. Since we're sharing what we've done per food lately...and I don't know why I never thought of this sooner...I made a meat loaf (I like to call it meat LUMP) but this time, along with mixing in the seasonings, I mixed in frozen, mixed vegetables. I then cooked it per the usual. It was awesome.

I emailed Neil degrasse Tyson. He may never read it...but I did it.

There's no harm in trying! Mine's similar: I emailed Humble Bundle about creating a charity with some of my digital goods. They're probably never going to read or accept my offer, but I thought it was worth trying as well. In fact, never trying kind of ensures that it never happens, so taking that risk is kind of meaningful.

I ate food because I because I cannot not eat. I do not feel hunger so I only eat because I cannot go without it. When I was young I only ate a little once a day but got scared thinking I might starve because I did not even want to eat that. I felt like I could go forever without eating.

Damn! I was hoping you would be successful and have some great tales and specimens.
Well, perhaps I posted too soon. My wife did find a Yooperlite. I also found that other rocks and fossils light up under UV light.

Two more days, three more engines

All that is left now is to pile some loose parts on top of the Chevy engines, cover everything and close up the shed.
