I'll hopefully be tested for Asperger's sometime soon. I'll call the place on Monday. So, anyone interested in chatting with me? Just friendly talking. I'm married to the best guy ever. I know, I know, i'm bias. I just turned 35 but I look like I'm 20. Noooo pics though. I like to write. Music . Not write music, but play music and write poetry and non-fiction stuff. Working on a memoir. At age 35, lol.

I play piano, used to be able to play French horn and mellophone. I like Chopin for piano and Beethoven and most classics, not really a fan of blues or jazz. But it can be fun to play sometimes. I'm just not as good at those two.

I am also a musician, but more in the rock idiom. I play guitar, and used to play saxophone. I also dabble in keyboards, but I can't claim to be much good.

That is awesome! I WISH I could play guitar and drums. Buuuut, I lack patience when it comes to waiting on getting good. I just get frustrated when I have a guitar. I can make VERY simple songs, and that is it which is so frustrating for me.

I'm bin nicht Deutsch. I'm not even sure I have the words in the right place, lol. As far as testing goes, if I am an Aspie, it would sure explain a lot about past experiences, strengths and weaknesses. I can relate to many of the traits.

Thats the way it is for many of us. Typically we have been labeled 'different' our entire lives and do feel different from the mainstream. A being 'out of step' mentally and socially. Also typically it has lead to many frictions, or problems and often victimization. Often there is also some obsessive or passionate interests.

And then you read about Aspergers/HFA and its like reading your life story.

Yes! It would explain SO many things from the past and present if it's determined my brain is that way.

That is exactly how I feel about keyboards. It's very hard to get the music out of my head and through the keys. I have made some keyboard heavy recordings that I am very happy with though. I had to do a soundtrack with a lot of orchestral work. I used Miroslav Philharmonic on Sample Tank. It was like having a symphony at my fingertips.

Wow. Do you study music at a school or just do it for fun? Or both? That sounds amazing.
 
I am not in school. I just do it at home. Lately I haven't been able to make myself do anything though. Hence the title "silent musician".

I would really like to start composing more original work. I listen to quite a variety of styles, and would likely integrate them into a kind of musical chimera. Some of my favorite artists are Malice Mizer, Ali Project, and Emily Autumn. Listen to them an you might have a vague idea of what I am going for.
