Songs you Despise!

Hands down the WORST song of the 2010s. "Despise" is a great word for it because I can't hear it without getting angry.
When I was in my early 20s, everyone liked to play this song at parties and I hated it so much that it became triggering lol

I really don't like rap, hip-hop or anything like that.

However, I have a full on PTSD terror of country music or anything related, such as bluegrass, etc. Just the slightest hint will hit me like a ton of bricks bolting me in a frantic run for my life. Been like that since childhood.

Goodness, that song is awful! I had a pain in my back last night and if the pain was a "song" this would be it! :smilecat:

The first time I heard it I thought it had to be a joke. It was another one that charted here, like not just on the charts but one of the top five songs, I believe.
What is wrong with people???

Four words. Rednex. Cotton. Eye. Joe. I don't really hate this song, it's sort of funny too, but I heard it too many times in the 90s and it gets stuck in your head. And the problem with this song is that it never ever goes away. I heard it in a new commercial on tv last night! It keeps coming back. It always comes back. :fearscream:

It's weird as there seemed to be a rash of songs around this time (I think the ones I posted are of a similar vintage) that were just plain awful. It was like they had picked the most irritating elements they could, recorded them and released them.

I asked the same question often "what's wrong with people!?" Every time they came on the radio I would say "Oh dear, the radio is making that damn horrible noise again!" :smilecat:

I cannot stand The Human League! Especially this song.

HAHA! i like some of the human league's work for the cheesy 80s factor of it but this is a good example of the extreme lows of their discography lol.

im here to counter you with a song i cant even sit through without grimacing and skipping:
i enjoy this mortal coil, i love a lot of things associated with ivo watts as a some of my favourite bands of the 80s were under the 4ad label, but this track actually genuinely ruins the whole album for me. i get so so uncomfortable listening to it, it's not a 'bad song' by any traditional means. EXCEPT for the looping sound of a stock sound effect of someone throwing a ball or swiping in the air? that does not budge for the whole 4 and a half minutes of the song's duration. it is genuinely the most aggravating thing because it could have been a fine enough song, i might have enjoyed it in an alternate universe if this sound was removed, it's a charming enough piece. but this sound feels like some comically horrible mistake in production or a lazy way to avoid copyright when re uploaded, but it isnt. im not sure if this is even as bad as im making it out to be but being sensitive to sounds this song is absolute HELL to sit through.

This may be silly of me but I cannot stand much of contemporary music, or contemporary classical music. I don't like the way pop music sounds; not the reliance of prominent and loud bass, nor the auto-tune of voices. I don't even understand the words, or honestly the notion of dancing to music--I've always been mystified by dancing.

I don't get the use of autotune as an aesthetic device. It sounds like a robot drowning.

Ha! I understand very much what you mean. Maybe it's also an extreme sensory issues, but I also can't stand when people hum, whistle, or sing (especially off-key) to music which is on the radio. My ears don't like it and I just...get irritated.
