Spring is almost here.

Hygge's a lot easier to form when the air temperature's around 35, the water temperature is over 20, and the beer temperature is -1.

Darwin - the water's 30 degrees and eskies float - there really is a god.
35 degrees (or more)?
Sounds like the other place to me. :screamcat:

Christians put their holiday's name over the top of an existing celebration as a sales gimmick to attract more followers.
Saturnalia may have influenced some of the customs associated with later celebrations in western Europe occurring in midwinter, particularly traditions associated with Christmas, the Feast of the Holy Innocents, and Epiphany. In particular, the historical western European Christmas custom of electing a "Lord of Misrule" may have its roots in Saturnalia celebrations.

Living near 45 degrees north we constructed our house to be tight and comfortable. Insulated concrete forms for the exterior walls, with high R windows, and sited to face SW to catch the winter sun. It is so tight that we need active air circulation (with heat recovery). Heating and cooling is through open cycle geothermal where we dump the water into a pond. In floor heat on the lower level, forced air in the upper level. We are cosy in winter.
I am in the process of installing ceiling fans due to how expensive air conditioning is due to the electricity prices.

We have solar panels in addition, but it is faulty.
It doesn't work at night.
I hope that is covered under warranty. :tongueout:

Fans are SO much more electricity-efficient.
I had a small fan going at night last summer and saved heaps.
Time to get serious since the power prices will get much worse due to government energy policies. :screamcat:

What's in the bag called "Honey Soy Chicken"? Are they potato chips?
Yes, potato chips. A cheap supermarket home brand that tastes better than all the others. :)

It was also interesting to get a Snickers in an old fashioned waxed paper wrapping like they used to be when I was a kid. Plastic is starting to disappear.
