Statistics: Covid & Vaccines

Hello, I just saw page 1 to 3 of this interesting thread, but would like to share some personal view on the topic before I go to sleep (and probably forget about it).

I am more on the big picture, INTJ pattern conection mode. It may give a complementary view to some of you, as your detailed view is complementing mine.

I live in Mexico City, which is the middle of an artificial division of an actual building to building conclomerate of about 25 millions of people that is imaginary divided into many cities. Most of people here use public transportation, just the metro moves about 5 million people a day. So I would say this is one of the best places in the world for a virus to spread. That said:

1- I totally agree that the virus targets genetically. In my family (about 200 people) on about 4 countries (Spain, Mexico, USA and Germany) no one has needed to go to the hospital or use oxigen, including my 6 aunts of 80+ years old. We do have obese people, people with hipertension and very crazy ones that go to parties ignoring the cuarentines... I do also know first hand, families where many people have gone with severe symthoms or die. So to me its clear that the distribution of the severe cases has a lot to do with genetics.

2- In Mexico is now official that the goverment hidden about 60% of the deaths. Some people did the match betwenn the official numbers and deaths certificates and the excess deaths to previous years. The goverment finally acknowledge having done this, and they keep doing it... We also had many well reported cases of people who died because various reasons (like fails due to extreme fatige on medics) whose deaths certificates were labeled by "coronavirus". So let say that data is not that trustable (at least in Mexico).

3- I am amazed at what is happening now at Japan. They somehow managed to stop the spread of the previous Covid waves, they vacinated nearly all their people. Now they are being infected by a "less lethal" virus that should target "non vacinated" and are getting way more deaths way faster that before. This again makes sense with what Ronal said about vacines non being that efective on people who has the wrong genetics-health conditions combinations.

3.1- Is this is true, it leads me to think that countries who have been able to stop previous waves will be hit anyway despite vaccines. Even if all human beins were vaccinated, the virus is already jumping between other species... and some of the asintomatic ones may be becoming reservories of the virus...this is sad.:(

4- I am also amazed at how lineal deaths by time are in USA and other countries, I expected to see a very big change after vacinations but I am not so sure now. The same goes for world agregated data (I could not upload my screenshot, go to COVID Live - Coronavirus Statistics - Worldometer search the "Total Deaths graphic", click on linear scale and see yourselves).

4.1- Its also interesting to note that the peaks between global waves are very equally spaced, I have no idea of why is that, but I have put a mental label on it because it is too simetric.

5- I have a coworker who had the 3 vacines, got infected 3 times over this years with almost no symtoms and this last infection (one month ago) hit him like a truck. He didnt die but almost needed oxigen and his lungs have got some damage, he is needing medicine to breath properly one month after being possitive and keeps coughing most of the day. So I think the risks are there even when we take care. :(

I think I had more to share, but I am already sleeping...zzzz

Hope this wall of text with lack of detailed data wont upset you. I will (or not) keep reading on this thread, a lot of your info and insigth was very interesting to me.

Hugs. :)

I'm pretty sure that the previous global pandemics took about three years to dissipate. Look at the Spanish flu (which should be called the Wichita, Kansas flu because that's where it originated) which took three years to downgrade itself into what we would call a common cold today. Ronald predicts this pandemic will end in another month or so, if I understand his posts. I'll put my money on another year of this virus before the world is essentially safe again.

I was betting that Omicrom was the ending wave, since it spreaded globally and was way less lethal than the previous ones. I still have a secret hope that it will work to help many people to get good defenses. I was actually starting some of my "normal" activities in April. Now I am not so sure.

Received this article from my brother this morning, my brother also has AB blood type. these scientists never include AB as sample size is too small drives me nuts.

I was surprised to see that the global distribution of O blood type varies a lot (Archivo:Map of blood group o.gif - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre) and also to learn that A, B and AB blood types may have something to do with anti-mosquitoes adaptations. They seem to prefer O blood types.

I will try to read the full thread later, I have a very busy day. Hugs :)

Done, I am up to date.

Mosquitoes and ticks love me, that is for sure. In any group I am always one of the bug magnets. (O-pos)

Most of what is being said in this thread is way over my head, but I will mention that I had virtually no reaction to the first vaccine, a moderate reaction to the second one (fever, migraine, muscle soreness), and a horrible reaction to the booster (high fever, chills, cramps, sweating, very bad muscle pains to the point that I was crying and couldn't even move or touch anything.) This reaction lasted more than 24 hours. I considered going to the hospital but decided to just stay in bed.
I am immune compromised and overweight and have several medical issues of varying severity.
Don't know if that's helpful at all or if anyone else has had this experience.

I am really grateful that I got all my vaccines and the booster as I currently work in a high risk environment, and because they’ve lifted all mandates I have now caught Covid despite MY following the protective measures.

Whilst this is inevitable that people will catch it in some form, considering how I’m currently feeling with the feeling of no energy, I can’t stand up for long periods without shaking like a new fawn, coughing pain like I have a chest infection, have had a strong headache, the strong reactions to the vaccines shows that it did what it was supposed to do, so I’m relieved that I haven’t developed more severely in symptoms.

THE biggest fallacy with the vaccine is that it is innocuous, safe across the board no different than injecting saline solution in your body. unfortunately this is not the case. Every person is different this over generalization, was silly and stupid. this virus activates the immune system to attack your own body if you are genetically susceptible. A lot of people got vaccinated that probably did not need too. Causing all the confusion we are presently seeing. As the waves drop in amplitude and frequency. we will see the end.

People also think aspirin, Tylenol and antihistamines are innocuous, safe across the board, etc. They aren't. Any and all medications and vaccines pose risks. Unfortunately, no one had a crystal ball or sufficient information in March 2021 to know if a specific person would have an adverse reaction to the Covid vaccine. Time has shown that the blood clotting and cardiac issues and deaths associated with the vaccine are primarily the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson versions; Pfizer and Moderna have proven to be much safer. We know a lot more now than we knew a year ago, and we will know even more a year from now.

Medical knowledge has always evolved, sometimes more quickly than at other times.

unfortunately there is also politics involved. interfering with medical knowledge.

Are they not closely entwined.
We have a very large east Indian population here in Brampton based on the literature I have read so far they have 50% chance of carrying the gene. It really shows in the stats yet no one wants to talk about it. This community makes up a large proportion of our truck drivers.
