Temples and Synagogues use in the Bible

You are seeing a dual-purpose recruitment drive, which consists of recruiting loyalist bigots, and there is also a population of scapegoats they are inviting, who didn't know the guy was a jerk because the criticisms chosen were intentionally flawed, at least at first.

My seaweed well it is best not try and mess around with it. It is needs to be accurate. Even the tone of the words in the article I cannot remember reading anything like that. Next week I may take a look to try and compare after I sent some forms away. Thank you.

I don't follow. But anyway, Gab is exceptionally disturbing to me. It's an open reversal of everything the country was supposed to stand for, along with all of the reforms which were supposed to have taken hold in the sixties, and I don't see any news agencies covering the spectacle of immorality it represents. It's totally and completely incongruous with the image that many news sites cultivate publishing things like the George Floyd scandal. Gab is a trainwreck which dares to say everything Trump can't or won't, and it is head-spinning.

Basically I meant I do not wish to stop something I have enjoyed unless there is a valid reason for me. I have to be sure to myself that what I have read/concluded is the right information.

Enjoyed? Gab? Let's call a certain point in time the fall of the United States. Up until that time, the narrative is that you had people attacking the principles of the nation by denying the success of the Civil Rights movement. So, then when people go for Torba declaring him a racist, that's a potential endorsement of him since maybe it's just an attack, and not the truth. Then, you go read the claims against him and they are flawed, so that suggests maybe the accusations are false. Fast-forward, and he is actually indeed a raging Nazi calling for red-blooded American males to engage in physical conditioning so that they can beat up the gays.

I did indeed sign up for Gab in order to gain an informed opinion, and you can see how that turned out. I didn't participate or read much at all, and when I did, it was detestable. It is a depth of insanity and moral inversion that makes a person dizzy. The last thing I did there was to read something to the effect that Torba was a victim and that he couldn't understand where the calls for violence were coming from. The very obvious response was "Here is an excerpt from your own mailings, you lunatic hypocrite", and then the other posters declared me a "robot", and had me banned. I assume their "robots" are people who did not become spiritualists at Wizardry, but I bet you they will look for a use for anyone they find "predictable", which is a thing I got called a lot by a certain abusive person, but that's another story.

I have never heard of Gab so your post I won't get the meaning without finding out about a bit more about Gab it seems. It seems interesting though. I am not dizzy (not to bright in the UK) just not familIar with the terms. It has been certainly an interesting dialogue.

If the end of the world will inspire your faith in God, then even something this awful serves a purpose. It's the end of reason and morality for many, it seems. It's to watch people wade happily into a burning pit in the confidence that it's not hell.

Thank you, i'm understanding. It seemed like a bit of specialist knowledge I didn't have..but with your help managed to thread it together.

So beautifully written, I had to comment. Thank you for posting.
I am taking it now that the preacher I heard wasn't being serious about Priests dying after going into see the Divine Presence.
Very interesting about the cooker being set and read it is a fact as well.
I find this thread very interesting. I appreciate @Cutesie 's input.

There is a vague memory in my mind of being told that the high priest had bells on his clothes so the people could hear him moving and he also had a string of rope attached so if he died in the Holy Place he could be pulled out (without endangering the lives of others).

You replied to me very quickly. I went back and edited in a link which you never saw. I linked to the website I read that I mentioned. I am sure there other pages online trying to come up with a different meaning. The bottom line is the clincher.
I will quote-
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from Yeshua? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body,”

HE created our bodies and HE lives inside of us. The Ruach haKodesh lives inside of anyone that has Faith in the Messiah. So think about that every time you are about to put something in your body that HE has commanded we shouldn’t. You are literally feeding our Messiah’s Set Apart Spirit the very food HE commanded we avoid. This includes stuff like Kelp or Seaweed.
Genesis 1:29-30 Plants and Fruits that are allowed | Biblical Truth

The product is a very small snack. It is packaged. It is not exactly fresh.

I like seaweed snacks, too. Sometimes I cut up a sheet of dry seaweed in small pieces to put on top of soup or salad.

I was raised in the tradition of Christian faith which also teaches that our bodies are temples that should not be defiled with anything prohibited by Biblical teachings, ranging from unhealthy foods to sex outside marriage to excessive alcohol consumption. As others have noted, Christians are not required to subscribe to the diet restrictions of the Old Testament.

Thanks for posting this informative and interesting thread!

Thank you Mary Terry
I'm looking at this now with a bit of a common sense approach. I don't like food hot or spicy but these wasabi t seaweed I am partial to has a certain kick to it. I used to buy a more plain flavour before.
I simply typed Jewish seaweed kosher into a search engine. What did I find again a small bit of controversy. But there are Jews who follow a Kosher diet who do buy Seaweed. They may tend to buy it from a Kosher shop that has been permittable by the hechsher tagged. This deems it kosher I believe. I don't want to get into exactly what I read as I found some of a bit uncomfortable. But these are grown in the sea. To make it kosher they are searched for what they have attached in the sea.
However, I am less likely to run into issue as I stay away from cheaper brands that may run into this. Also, the ones I have been buying seem to be made differently than some cheaper brand ones. There are there are Jews who would just eat them standard.
If it's good for you sort of thing.
I hope this is all quite clear.

I agree the reply was very strong. I have no idea about their relationship to Judaism, who knows.
What I will say I feel a bit of a foreigner on this matter and everyone could get this information by just gooling lol.
The question you don't wish to look it up in a search engine. I heard it listening it to the televsion from a preacher. They bascially said everything I did, but added that on top about the High Priest possibly dying after going in there.
Reading your post today I had to look it up a bit further.
I did see that in the Old Testament that Aaoron's two sons were consumed by the Divine Prescence for inappropriate offerings before God.
Sermon: The Day the Priests Dropped Dead - Leviticus, Hebrews, 1 Peter | Lifeway
It seems to stop there for me.
Then I read an article that really made chuckle to say the least.... incredulous statements that go and around. It was written in 2009. They wrote if it was historically accurate with case studies other than the Old Testament then why don't we see these studies in Rabbanic journals.
It was comedic as well.

Well as a dual citizen almost, I heard something today which I liked, we all from Abraham and Sara. I liked that.

Don't forget Jewish dietary restrictions of today are not the same dietary restrictions that existed at the time of Jesus.

I don't know about modern Jewish approaches to seaweed, but the Old Testament itself says nothing about seaweed, ergo, it is unlikely that seaweed was specifically forbidden then.

A lot of the more strict restrictions we are now familiar with, came somewhat later. (To be fair, we also have a lot of added-on traditions that did not exist in the time of the Apostles, like holidays.)

Thank you jsilver256, that is very interesting how things are different today dietary wise.
When I first read the page I mentioned before I binned my things in my kitchen boxed. Then I gave it a bit of time and thought no and removed it. I thought I have to investigate it some more fully. It hasn't been a lifetime experience for me, the topic though of discarding your things after experencing what I did ;) earlier this year zoned out let's say. I went to get some of my things back..but not again. The mini dream spoke a lot to me. There are a lot people with google pages whatever reasons they have. I've got my delivery tomorrow.

Kayla55 initially raised about dietary laws in this thread. This discussion about Kosher food made me interested so when I was shopping in a supermarket to get things for visitors I took a few moments to look at the Kosher section in one supermarket. It was only a very small section. When I saw it though I thought wow my diet is already pretty much kosher. They made it seem like Turkey was a favoured thing as quite a bit of it was on sale, but it isn't. I think some people will just end up following the laws Kashrut but not its progression to Kosher and certification.
Some Kosher food is much more expensive than even free range that it is going to be too expensive for many families and especially some groups like students. For example see the price of chicken on this website. I know certification involves steps but I don't like to see excessive mark ups as well.

Ir seems as well at odds with some Christian values. Some religious people will eat expired food to not waste and spend frugally. Each to their own. The Bible also tells us to not worry about what we eat. Although my intake seemingly abides with traditional law I myself wouldn't pay for a mark up for certification if it was quite a difference . I find it a challenge to spend money like that on myself as well.

When I was working as a teen in a church It was sometimes incumbent on me to follow Old Testament laws regarding food to prepare for religious work.

The increased price for Kosher is not much about the certification. What the agencies charge is a tiny fraction of the cost. It is the laws of what can be used and the lower demand that are the driving factors.

Modern food production uses so many ingredients. All of them have to be Kosher, and sourcing them can be difficult and expensive. Machines used to process non-Kosher food have to be cleaned in a certain way. Meats, especially, have added costs, because a chicken or cow can become forbidden due to circumstances beyond anyone's control.

We Jews aren't advocating for others to follow these laws; our tradition says that they were only intended for us. In our opinion, all you're doing by specifically eating Kosher is making the food cheaper, which is great.

Thank you, lived experience is useful and better than a search engine that lists all the steps involved to justify increased costs. Thank you for replying with the accurate information..

Turkey was a favoured thing as quite a bit of it was on sale, but it isn't.
When it comes to deli meat, turkey is pretty popular in the Jewish world. In general, it's chicken and beef that are most eaten. A minority of Orthodox Jews actually don't eat turkey at all. We eat many types of fish, but salmon is especially commonplace. (I'm not a fish person.)

The deli turkey is what really what caught my eye. It is the only meat I would buy and mix it up in salads on special occasions now lol. It's been that way for decades. My dad has purchased those brands for me loads of times not even knowing it was Kosher. My dad loves the tuna and fish balls and is always trying to tempt me with them lol.
People learn how to make things work for them. I did look at a few websites, but unfortunetly very limited ones are visible online. These are a few more online stores in the UK. Posted really just to make comparsions with the first link I linked to. It's nice though to be able to look around as well.

I have spent some time looking at Biblical Christian dietary law today. I think correct information is necessary to base opinions on and especially when it comes to food.

Inside story, my dad told me that some Christians will refuse to eat pork because when Jesus cast an unclean spirit it went into a pig.

Yesterday I believe was Yom Kippur, that was nice to think with this thread active, although it has detoured somewhat lol.

I am sharing what I researched below to show the New Testament’s view of dietary law.

(Mark 7:19) For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

(Romans 14:20) For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

(Acts 10) Peter went up on the flat roof to pray. It was about noon, 10 and he was hungry. But while a meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw the sky open, and something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners. 12 In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and birds. 13 Then a voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.”

“No, Lord,” Peter declared. “I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean. But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.” The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven.

These appear to be the Christian ethics/rules below.

Acts 15:29

"You must abstain from eating food offered to idols, from consuming blood or the meat of strangled animals”

However, as I mentioned much earlier a bit unprepared in this thread some Christian church’s today do forbid the consumption of pork. The Seventh Day Adventists do forbid certain food groups and follow the laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy about food. They also base their doctrines on Genesis 9.4 which they argue was God’s original plan for human kind. There are other church’s as well that are similar.

Meat Laws - Clean & Unclean Meat - Seventh-Day Adventist Diet

It all comes to do what I posted earlier about and basically Christians have to do what they feel is right for themselves. However still though all food under New Testament law apart from Acts 15:29 appears to be clean.

Romans 14:3

“The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them”.
