The last thing you bought?

I ordered a new large jaw clip identical to my old one on Amazon today because my old one's teeth decided to break off. Fortunately I was able to get same-day shipping, so I'll have it by work tomorrow. Thank goodness, too; I don't know what I'd do with my hair in public without it.
Well, technically I can still wear the old one as it's only missing three of its teeth; it's just really loose, saggy and uncomfortable and I wouldn't tolerate it well, even with a million bobby pins.

What makes them so heavy?

I have made 'blankets'/quilts that are
as warm as some sleeping bags . . .
not arctic, but down to freezing, but
I don't think they are that heavy.

I have never weighed any of them.
Idk, I looked up weighty blankets and it had a chart according to the person's weight & mine was 13 pounds.

Wow, what are the odds!? (not a literal question :))

My post was partly inspired by posts that I have seen you make before, where you share several links to existing threads, about the topic being queried.

True. :)
I favor the approach I learned at school.
Have multiple references to support one's
statements.

Making special blankets extra heavy wasn't
an issue back people only used fire for heat.
Blankets were . . . just plain heavy. Animal
hides and so on.

Wow!!!! I'd jump all over that. As for your wife, "What she don't know won't hurt you.";)

I have enough handguns that she probably would not notice, but I told her. We are completely honest with each other. However, I am pretty sure this is going to cause a shopping trip on her part.

I'm impressed!!! You must have bought the real deal and not a Cabela's replica like the ones I have. They're a lot of fun, but I'd keep a real one under glass to display. Here's what I presently have:

All of my pieces are real. I had a CVA replica Remmy when I was young, and did not like the frame (it was the brass version) When I got the real deal and compared them, there was an enormous difference in the ergonomics. (real one was much better)

Minus the usual food and trinkets, I guess the last "major" thing I bought was plane tickets out to see a friend in California. Hooray for vacations!

I've heard that about the ergonomics between the original and replicas. It seems the only "real" improvement is the metallurgy. That was the biggest problem with the Walker. It was a phenomenal piece and could drop a horse at 100 yards, but the cylinders were notorious for blowing apart when loaded with a full 60-grain charge.

I can attest that a Walker is good beyond 100 yards since I've done it with mine. I've loaded mine with 70 grains. It makes a VERY BIG boom when it goes off, but it's also abusive on the wedge. Because of that I usually don't load past 50 grains, which is still heavier than the Remingtons. My favorite is the 5 1/2" Remington. It's an easy handling piece and quite accurate.
Has the Colt ever "shot loose"? I've seen complaints of that nature with the brass versions. If you save all your money for the rest of your life, you might get to die with a Leach & Rigdon or Spiller & Burr in your hands :D.
Of course if you're Really successful, you can upgrade to a genuine CW Henry Rifle.

Here are the Star Trek stamps that will be offered starting 1 Sept. They commemorate the 50th anniversary.
