Theory of Mind

Well, what kind of blame are they having to place on Grace? Did Grace give Mary poisoned sugar, yes. Did she deliberately try to kill her, no. I'm more concerned with the numbskull that left the poisoned sugar out in the first place!

Although I was highly amused about the kid who built an igloo out of snowballs which then collapsed on their friend's head. My answer on that one would have been, "who cares, it was funny".

"even a dog knows the difference between being kicked and being stumbled over"
Exactly.

Just out of interest (anyone can answer this), if you were born prior to 1980, do you feel that your teachers stuffed up by not recognising that you have AS? Or do you accept that no one is to blame for lack of early diagnosis because teachers simply did not understand the significance of the signs?

To my way of thinking, if I can learn from the experience and do better next time, then I have some culpability; Hedgehog, I won't leave an open flame untended after nearly burning my own place down last year, I couldn't predict that something would fall on it, but I can be more careful in future; lesson learned.
Of all the teachers and instructors I had in school and further-ed, could not one of them have been curious as to why I was so shy, withdrawn and never socialised or took part in social activities? Aren't personal tutors/form tutors/pastoral councellors responsible for the well-being of the children in their care?
I know you say pre-1980 Lollipop, but when my children have been bullied, or seemed unhappy (more than usual) about going to school, after my experiences as a kid, I want to know why!
